I recently transfered a high interest rate credit card to a 5.99 fixed rate. The offer would be fixed until the entire balance was paid off. However after looking the first statement i noticed the APR rate was 41 percent. whats going on?? why is the nominal rate 5.99 and the APR 41%.

I am applying for Tennessee Governor's School for Informational Technology Leadership. I am more interested in the Business Leadership aspect, but for my application it is asking ways information technology has helped businesses operate more effectively and asks to give concrete examples.

If you could please give me a summary of what Information technology is, and some examples of the way it has helped I will derive my own answers.

Thanks in advance.

I have a question that I really need help with. I'm 15 years old and this summer(maybe even starting this spring) I NEED to get a job. I need to work for $2300 over the summer to pay for my hockey season next fall/winter. I want to know, does dairy queen hire at age 15 in the state of PA? and, if anyone has ever worked there is it a hard/lousy job? and how much do they pay an hour?

what is something that you have tried. My strategy is setting a limit price for a stock that fluctuates regularly, and basically buy it when its low and set another limit price to sell it when it increases but right before it reaches its maximum. Any suggestions? and please tell me if my idea sucks and why

I rent a room without a written agreement. He has given me a little more that a month in a half notice and gave the reason he no longer wishes to rent out rooms. We also had an arguement about me using to much electricity which i pay for. I'm still unsure if he's just mad and retaliating. I heard somewhere you can't evict some one in the winter in boston.

I was recieving tax deferred unemployment benefits for five months and have since been doing contract work under a 1099. My question is, if I continue doing the contract work, I will owe a boatload of taxes, but since I am eligible for earned income credit, will all the money I owe come out of my refund? BTW.....I am single with one child.

I just got a job today at Circuit City in the customer service department...and I'm a little frightened at the angry customers she told me they get from time to time, especially around the holidays. To be honest, I really don't like people yelling at me...I don't get angry back...I just feel like my feelings are hurt. Course here it probably won't be my fault, just that they are directing their anger at me and hopefully I won't take it personally. I know it's important to stay calm, to smile, and be polite...but any advice? Techniques? heh.

It is OBVIOUS that they make these vehicles that get 50 MPG over in Europe, so why can't they do that here in the US? Why doesn't our government FORCE the car companies to do so here in the USA? It would help with air quality as well as consumers pocket books.

The vehicles that are in Europe getting this kind of gas mileage are not small vehicles either!

A year ago he deposited a check from a client in his own checking account(let's call it account A). For some reason, he wrote himself a check for that amount using Account A and deposited in account B (joint with me). A few days later, the clients check didn't clear for insuficient funds, and of course his check into account B got problems as well. Bank A closed his account for "fraud" and Bank B closed our account for fraud. He paid the money back right away when he was informed that the checks were not good, etc. When we tried to open another account (joint) the bank rejected him (this was Bank C). I suspect banks pass on information about this kind of transactions. When will his "name" be cleared? I have my own checking account, but am afraid to add him on and then have it closed on me because of his history, although this was about 18 months ago. When can he open his own account?
