Just remember that IPOs that ordinary folks (you and me) get to invest in are usually not good investments. There have been a number of studies showing that investing in IPOs at the offering price doesn't make you as much money, on average, as investing in an index fund.

It's easy to forget that although several IPOs -- particularly through the bubble market of the late '90s -- made investors tons of money, at the same time there were even more IPOs that tanked quickly.

Your better off investing in a well established stock rather than risking your capitol on IPO's. That being said you can take advantage of alibaba which is the hottest IPO going and invest in a well established company by buying shares of Yahoo, they happen to own 40% of alibaba which has already beat Googles IPO earnings and won't be available in the US until DEC. So get in now before the price gets too high and ride the profits into the new year. Happy trading.

VISA is the next big thing but I think its will be offered in 2008. It would be smart to start researching about visa NOW. What other companies are going to be affected and maybe see if you should maybe invest in them. There are several banks people dont know that will have large stakes in VISA.
It will be the one of the most lucative IPO's in history and they are looking to expand in China..The money to be made on this IPO is just about limitless. Its going to put Google and Apple to shame.

THE VISA IPO, its not offered yet, but will be by year´s end. Remember, when you buy into an intial public offering, you wait till all the hoopla has passed, and it will come down a bit, then you buy into it...I am waiting for this IPO, it will do great in the coming years, with not only in our market, but international markets as well...

Chinese Internet company Alibaba.com just IPO'd in Hong Kong and will start trading in the US in several days. If you like to ride a bubble, this is about as bubbly as you can get. The bubble will burst, so I'm not saying it's prudent, but the potential for quick gains is there.
