I work for an office which employs approx. 25 people. There are no sick days or personal days, only a week (5 days) of vacation. If we are sick or need a day off, we have to use one of our 5 vacation days.
If we do not have any vacation days left, you dont have the option of not being paid, since they say the company medical play requires you to work a 40 hour week. Only option is to make up the hours before the next pay period or else lose your FT status and medical coverage.
We do have off for major holidays, but never like the day after Christmas or New Years Eve or anything (unless they're on a weekend of course).
There is no eating allowed at our cubicles, and no cell phones allowed in the building. Also, there are no typical 15 minute breaks, only a 1/2 hour lunch and that's it.
Is this normal or acceptable to you for 35k/yr?

I made some big mistakes this year. I got a 4 suite apartment, which is in a bad neighborhood, that I probably overpaid for. I also got a house for the person who helped get me financing for the apartment. The agreement was he pays for the house mortgage until he is able to refinance it in 6 months. He couldn't make payments after a few months, and I am stuck with the house too. I want out of both deals so bad, my credit is shot because of late payments, the house is almost 3 months behind, i'm screwed. What's the best way to get rid of everything? Short sale, bankruptcy, what? I don't want to do something where i give them up, then have to pay the difference, i have no money for that! God i'm so young and stupid!!

For the most part, they do not do business ethically, nor on any terms which aren't designed to screw the consumer. This is one big reason the housing market is upside down these days. Should laws be made to regulate this problem?

I never intended on moving in. Now the house is behind in payments and someone said they might investigate whether or not i lived there. If they determined i never lived there, i'd be in trouble. Does anyone know about this?

I work at a very large company, and they have had all of us on a 6-day, 48-hour a week mandatory overtime schedule. We are all tired, and have relatively no personal lives anymore. There are people who have children, elderly people, and people who go to college working at our company. Does this seem fair to take our private lives away, just to save money on new hires? We do belong to a union. Is there any way out of this? Ever? Help!

I work for an insurance company. Here are some of the things I do:
-Generate weekly newsletter and email to our subscriber base
-Scan the internet looking for mentions of our company and our competitors
-Oversee our company web site and make changes as needed (not an IT person, though - no formal training)
-Monitor web traffic to our site
-Write emails, create marketing pieces (mostly text) as directed by our company president and my supervisor
-Come up with ideas for new ways to sell our insurance products
-Attend trade shows and mingle with people
-A lot of work directly from the company president, such as correspondance to emails he gets.

They never really gave me a title for this job. It started as CSR since I was taking calls initially, but havent for about 18 months now. I want to apply for other jobs but am not sure what to put as job title, as CSR is misleading.

Is this a marketing director? Marketing & Communications director? Internet Marketing Specialist? What else?

... I have been trying to sell a land lot property (located in Monticello, GA) but the market has been sooooo bad that i havent had any offers. I am a couple of thousand dollars in debt and up to now, selling the land and getting some money out of it is the only thing i feel will help me pay for my credit card debt. Does anyone have any clever ideas to pay off my debt or to sell my land???

My friend bought a manufactured home. The payments stated were the same, but total amount without interest is different. The seller forged his name on contract. Actually 2 contracts exist and both are forged. Didn't receive all that was stated on contract either, even though wasn't aware that he was suppose to receive other items. Guess they added those to make difference in amount of home. Also added a amount, which I am sure went to loan officer at finance company. Does he have to legally pay for home, since isn't his signature? BIG DIFFERENCE in signatures.

I co-signed on a student loan for my neice about two years ago. It is a private student loan. Well, to make a long story short.....I want to be taken off. She is hurting my credit because she hardly ever pays on time and I'm having some major regret. How can I go about this? I know its not as easy as just asking to be taken off, but does she need to find a new loan, or just a new co-signer or what?

Thank you!

I took a deposit of 5 per cent on a property i was selling and the person i was selling to could not for some reason obtain a loan to buy and i waited for almost 13 months and eventually he withdrew from the deal and i promised as i did not want to take any money which was not due to me that i will refund his deposit as soon as i have sold the same property as i do not have any other source at the moment but what he did was to threaten me thru some debt collection thugs who have written to me(letter as no tel.no. or address) and given me a ultimatum to pay till the 7th.or face the consequences which will be bad.My question is what should i do as i and my family are all living in fear at the moment ?
