Try sending some portion of it within the time. That will not make them completely happy but it will provide an arguing point against their saying you are just ignoring your responsibilities.

What you should do is call your mortgage company and explain why the payment is going to be late and let them know you're concerned about getting a bad mark on your credit for it. Most places are willing to work with you, especially if you are taking the initiative and making contact with them rather than leaving them in the dark about your situation. They may have some kind of 10 days grace period where your credit won't be marked if the payment gets there within that time frame...it never hurts to ask!

Your payment is considered 30 days late when it is not recieved by the lender within the mo. There is usually a 15 day grace period. In some very rare circumstances, you are able to defer one or two payments for medial reasons etc... during your term... may want to call your lender. Always stay in contact with them about lates...

Even if you make a partial payment (which most lenders won't accept) they will still be obligated to report it to the credit bureau. The best thing you can do at this point is try not to get even more behind.

Best bet is to call the bank that holds your mortgage and make an agreement with them. They will work with you.
