I keep getting letters from my old company saying I owe them over $700 dollars. I never received this money, I have told them this several times. Last time I responded I told them to provide proof that the money was sent to me. They just now responded with none, still saying I owe them.
Heres the deal, my last two days I had worked was paid to me June 8th (this was for the pay period of 05/14-05/27). I didnt receive anything after.
This is their letter:
"The direct deposit you received on June 8, 2007 is for the pay period 05/28-06/10. As previously stated [company] pays current with adjustment in arrears. That means you were paid your full 80 hours for two weeks ending on Sunday, 06/10 after payday of Friday, 06/08. However, you did not work any hours during this time. The net amount for this direct deposit was $180.76. Thus, as you can see, you did not receive a direct deposit in the amount of $734.34. The net overpayment total of $734.34 is the amount you owe Princess Cruises."

Our mortgage lender has filed for bankruptcy. Our payments to the mortgage company include principle, interest, taxes and insurance (PITI). What happens to the money we have paid towards taxes and insurance ?? Since we have paid this money in advance with our payment, is the bankrupt mortgage lender required by law to pay them? If they don't, due to bankruptcy protection, are we responsible to pay the money that has already been received by the mortgage lender?? In other words, lets say we have made payments totaling $10,000 over the last 10 months, $2500 of which is taxes and insurance. If the mortgage lender does not pay the $2500 to the insurance company and to the IRS, do we have to come up with the $2500 to pay what the mortgage lender did not ??

Does this only pertain to full-time employees? Or does the new law pertain to part time and full-time employees?

I am moving closer to the clients office on a new contract. I signed a lease recently but am thinking if I can have my employer pay the rent directly. Please advice if the employer will have any tax issues to do so.

If a home was foreclosed on, and now bank owed. Does the bank have a "format" to selling it? For example, can they just sell it to who they want or must they do it in a fair manner (like auction, sealed bids, etc?) Just curious... are their any laws on this?

I asked a question earlier about how to pay a loan off earlier. I think some of you misunderstood my question. I am not in debt over my head and I have money set aside for emergencies. I only wanted to know the best way to get a loan paid off quicker. By making regular monthly payments with a couple extra payments a year, or by just making payments for about double the payment or what. My loan is $350.00 and I have about $700.00 a month to put on it. How is the best way to apply it? Do I need to make payments ahead, such as paying the $350.00 ahead of time, or do I need to pay $700.00 a month, or just make the regular payment and send in extra money here and there? Hope this is not too complicated. Anyway, thanks for the answers everyone!

Hi, my dad past away 3 years ago and my mom never worked, so when he died (he was 46) only had 100k for her and an annuity. She spent all the money on fixing the house, like my dad wanted, and paid off all the debt they had. The annuity brings in $900 and her bills are triple that! She's financially dumb! She listens to nothing we say. She does have a job now, but only pays 5.50/hr.

She also has 2 vehicles, one leased and one on a loan, fully financed. She has come to the point of them sending the repo papers, but she pays them eventually, she asks for money from family.

Should she file for bankruptcy?

I work as a front greeter and the other day a lady came in who seemed nice enough. Little did I know, everything she had to say was racist, and then she started telling me that she "could be my mother" because we are from related, but distant ethnic backgrounds. She then told me who I'm allowed to marry and date and who I'm not allowed to. THEN, she goes off and says how much she hates Americans and then acts all sweet to my coworkers, who are all white!
This lady came in again a day ago and was very upset because in truth, she failed to take the necessary steps to ensure that she'd have a room (I'm in a hotel). We were nice and apologized and tried to explain to her what happened, however she became irate and then kept telling me that I should know better. And then she kept calling me "her kid". Seriously this woman is imbalanced-- we all think so along with the manager (who had to set her straight). How do I deal with her again, this is my last week? I'll attack her! What do I do?

I'm interested in buying a 2005 Mustang, I can afford it with the new job I got, but the problem is I'm 17 years old, so I think the financing would have to be on my parents name or something... is there any alternative way to get this? Or should I just wait until I'm 18 so I can get a loan (in which I'm not even sure I can get).

I made a written offer to buy a house through my real estate agent. The seller's agent called my agent and asked to engage in verbal negotiations as opposed to written offers. This has happened on two offers I made. Why would a seller's agent want to negotiate verbally instead of responding with a written counter-offer? What is the real motive here?

I have been unemployed for a year. My husband was constantly employed by one employer for 3 years, then just changed to a much higher paying job 2 months ago.

I think the landlord we are trying to rent from is going to request an additional security deposit just because of this.
1. Is this ethical?
2. Will they be obligated to give it back to us once our lease ends and we always paid on time? Or can they keep it and drag their feet giving it back at move out time, maybe from dirty carpet, etc?

They have already requested a $75 NON refundable "redecorating" deposit, and $175 regular deposit.
I know they can only ask for a total of one month rent, but I don't understand what this money for "short recent work history" is going to cover!

I recently graduated college and started a new job 24 hours from home. My company offers a PPO plan with a network of doctors you can search through to see who they cover etc. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and can not be without my medicine if I want to function properly at work. I searched through the network and found a list of Psychiatrist that were covered. Could I make an appointment with one of them without first seeing a family physician? Money is a big issue for me right now, so Im trying to avoid going if I can.

any in site on this would help, Thanks!
