1. Will it show on my credit rating?
2. Is the $200 penalty for breaking the contract waived if it is because we have moved somewhere where it is impossible or not allowed to put in a dish?

What does your contract say about moving out of the service area? Sometimes the penalty fee is waived for that. But if you are moving to a place where the dish isn't allowed, they probably won't waive the penalty.

As long as you pay the bill in ful, including the penalty, it won't affect your credit rating at all.

First call the company speak to a supervisor. If you must I would pay the fee only if I had to it's really not worth runing my credit for.Again a $200.00 fee can trun into hundreds if let on your report too long.

I would talk to someone at the cable company and ask them and tell them the situation. They might work with you on it.
