My builder told me that the walk-through for my new home would be on a Friday (24 Aug) - that my inspector should be scheduled on the Thurs (23 August) , and to get the report submitted to the builder 1 day later on Fri (same day as walk-thru). THEN the final walk-thru to be on the Monday (27 August), followed immediately by closing (an hour after final walk-thru). My gut feeling is - what work can possibly be done between the walk-thru on Friday and the final walkthru on Monday...and the closing set just 1 hour after the final walk-thru. The builder assures me that any work needed can be finished in hours and the final walk-through should not take more than 20 mins, and thus closing can be done just one hour later. I get the feeling the builder is in a hurry to close before the end of August for some reason. It is 5 August and the house is not even ready (floors, fixtures etc all not in). I need some advice as to whether this rushed timeline is typical of new home construction.

"Hello doctor, I've been having pain and discomfort in my entire body daily for about 5 years now and some days it gets so bad that I can't get out of bed. I have my "good" days but most of the time it's hard for me to function in daily life and I can't do all the things I want to do. I also get headaches, SEVERE period cramps, lightheadedness and fatigue. I get sharp pains in my stomach and back that sometimes bring me to my knees. I'm a pretty tough 22 year old, but have cried several times from the pain and feeling helpless. Also, over-the-counter meds like Tylenol and Midol don’t help me at all" - Berry

"Here's some Paxil." - Doc

"Hello doctor, I've had serious stomach problems for about 5 years including sharp pains, discomfort, frequent gas, diarrhea and constipation. I eat healthy most of the time and don't eat fast food. I think my stomach problems have resulted from my teenage partying phase where I drank and did drugs. I have quit these bad habits but have continued to have problems." - Berry

"Here's some Imodium AD.” – Doc

I feel these doctors don’t take me seriously and they just hand me a useless prescription without running tests, asking me questions or even giving advice about diet and exercise or what could be causing my problems at such a young age. Are my problems too complicated and they don’t want to deal with them? Do they think I’m lying or imagining it?

Where can I find good healthcare with a caring doctor who will take me seriously and actually try to help? In the meantime, I’ve been self-medicating with Loritabs for over a year because it’s the only thing I’ve found that has eased my pain and made it so I can function and have a normal life.

I'm starting a company with a few friends and as part of the process, I met with a few accountants a few weeks ago to select one for our company. One of them decided to send me a bill for $240 for the initial consultation. I know it's customary for accountants to provide complimentary initial consultation; she also did not warn me in advance that she was going to charge me for the initial consultation. I think it's pretty unprofessional for her to just stick me with the bill, I don't think that I should pay for something I did not agree to. Do I have to pay? She has our to-be company's name, my name & address. If I don't pay, will my credit be damaged?

I bring money whenever i go out, but i've always got friends asking me to lend them some money because they were too lazy to bring their own. I usually have to wait 2 weeks just to get my money back (I'm talking about small money).
Whats a good way to tell my friends that I'm not going to lend them money without looking so selfish?

I am planning to start a concierge/errand service within the next year. Money will be tight. The company will begin as a sole proprietorship and will be home-based, no employees. I will have my AAS in accounting next May, so I think that I can handle the accounting stuff myself. For the type of business, I think that I will need insurance/bonding, but I was wondering if it would be okay to forgo this until I'm actually bringing in revenue. I definitely won't have the money for a lawyer, but I'm afraid that if I write contracts, releases, etc. myself that I will leave something out and put myself in a vulnerable position with clients.

So my question is can a start my business without a lawyer and insurance for now, or do I NEED to go ahead and invest in it? What can I do to protect myself on a shoestring budget (I'm talking tiny budget, $2500 max)

Is there one or two matress companies that own the rest?

I really like the S&F Beauty rest mattress so I decided to look up the patent on it and noticed that Sealy and some other company own all current mattress patents. Does anyone know the corporate info on S&F and is the stock publicly traded?

I applied at Coffee Bean a couple of weeks ago,so I called to check my application and some woman picked up saying the manager was busy making calls. She took down my name and number and she said,'I'll tell him you called after he's not busy'.But the manager never called me back.Would it be okay to call back again and ask about my application? Or would that be bothering them and making me seem desperate? Help! I really need a job, =(
