I recently was scamed for $1000.00 from some individuals in the UK. I didn't use my better judgment & not realizing if you have to pay to get a loan, something is wrong. I need help & I need a loan to help me get caught up so I can file for divorce & to get my life going. I work 2 jobs & bake on the side as well.

Has anyone successfully used the prosper.com service to borrow money? How did it work out, what was the outcome? Can you recommend any other non-traditional lenders someone could turn to in order to get their business started?

We finally got an offer on our house, not terrific but certainly acceptable by the standards of the current market. The buyer offered cash on closing, which he wanted done in two months. My realtor put together a purchase agreement and sent it to the buyer's agent. Except for the cash payment, it was pretty standard---the buyer gets the appliances, window treatments, etc. The house was subject to inspection, but except for moisture seepage in the basement, the house passed muster. Everything seemed to be going well, except that now the buyer hasn't signed the purchase agreement after my agent submitted it to his agent two weeks ago. My realtor says the buyer's agent is this big-name "platinum club" type who regards my house as a two-bit property and we are just "a blip on his screen." She also urges patience, as it's "natural" for the buyer to be cautious. I'm wondering however if we are being scammed. The buyer is a real estate investor and that's about all I know about him.

I have managed a business with an average of 12 employees for ten years. I find it very difficult to get good honest people. It is always something, i.e.... stealing money from the cash register, lying about hours worked, covering up for another dishonest employee, etc.etc. I have always done my best to keep a level head in stressful situations, be friendly and understanding, I try very hard to promote a team atmosphere but there are always those who abuse it. Just today I had a situation where an employee wrote time on her timesheet that wasn't worked. ( I wrote her up and gave her 3 days off with no pay) I feel that I should have fired her probably but it is a situation where I am friends with her mother and told her that if it were anyone else she would have been automatically dismissed. Then another person tried to cover for her which to me is just as dishonest. What can we do to make people understand and care about the company they work for?

I hear that 5 or 6 % of the price of the home is the closing costs. But I hear that most of it goes to the realter not towards what it actually costs to close a deal on a home. Is that true and how much to they get?

I understand the basics...but I just started a new job where a 401K plan will be available to me within a year and I've never had one, so I really don't know what to do with it. My company is matching (half) of whatever I put in there at the end of the year...

Also I was thinking if they did it periodically throughout the year it would benefit me more than at the end of the year...is that true?

I would like to take some money out of my Roth IRA and invest it in currency exchange.

From what I know, I need to move it to a Self Directed IRA provider and with that account fund the currency exchange account.

Is this correct? Is there another way of doing this? Another method I came across is to form an LLC, which you start with your Self Directed IRA, then trade currency with that LLC.

Thanks for your inputs.

I was supposed to closed this friday on a house, today is wed and my broker didnt close on my mortgage loan yet. My broker mess me up really bad, he didnt do his homework. He waiting to the last minute to tell me I need additional 4500 to buy points so my rate can be lower so I can be qualified for the mortgage. At first I was stress about the money, so I deposit the money in my account and send him the statement. As right know I have a bad feeling about buying the house, I know I cant walk up unless I get rejected from the bank. I just feel there is a possibilty I might not even refinance the house, I was hoping I could because the payments are too high. Deep down inside my heart I hope I get denied for the loan. Are my feeling are normal or should I be excited ?
