Depends on where you are located, of course. Patent attorneys are not inexpensive. My son happens to be a patent attorney (Manhattan) and his firm bills his services to clients at a rate of $750 per hour. Of course Manhattan is about as expensive as it's going to get, but patent attorneys do not come inexpensively anywhere.
Generally, patent attorneys hold multiple degrees in varying engineering disciplines, in addition to their law degrees.

PATENT lawyer.
They are expensive, $300 a hour is about average.
