I am looking to buy a home. When I got my credit reports from the bank, I noticed an address on there, that I have never lived. I do not even know where that came from! What can I do to have this address removed from my credit report?

My mortgage is with Countrywide, and if you've seen the news today, they're starting to get hit with issues stemming from subprime loans.
I wondering whether this is something I should be worried about or not.
My gut feeling is that it shouldn't matter. I have an established loan with a good fixed rate. They can't raise my rate or anything like that, everything is contractually bound. If they go bankrupt (which is unlikely) my loan still shouldn't be affected as far as I can tell.
What are other people's thoughts here? Is there any reason to be concerned about financial issue at your lender?

I live in Toronto, Canada. I recently applied for an apartment (a little more than two weeks ago) and gave a one month deposit with my application, but the landlord had some reservations as to approving it, so he requested more information which I faxed, but he still was not convinced so I decided to withdraw my application cuz he was just being unreasonable. The landlord says he will mail me the check whenever I call but he just seems to be doing everything to keep the money with him as long as possible. I gave him the benefit of the doubt on two occasions, but the last time I called confirmed he's just being dishonest.

Now I am thinking about starting a suit against this guy. Do you think it's a good idea and can I expect to win the case easily?

Thanks!

Today I had the inspectors take a look at a house I placed an offer on which was accepted. It has no foundation and is built on pillars.

Should I have the house raised and placed on pillars to lay a fuondation and if so, what type?

Is this a cost I an expect the seller to shoulder, should we go 50/50 or should I pay for it all?

I had a pretty high paying job (for my age) in the restuarant industry and during that time I took a loan out, and a motorcycle payment in addition to my regular bills (car, phone, insurance, rent etc). Since then, the restaurant went out of business leaving me with tons of bills. I claimed unemployment, and have been trying really hard to find another job that can cover all my bills.

So basically, my father (who owns his own business) found out and absolutely cannot stand that Im on umemployment. He really really hates it and is almost at the point where he wants to disown me. My question is, why does he care so much? Does he pay (out of his business) for me to collect? I was under the impression that the employer pays, and the fact that I have been working 6 years in the past. Thanks in advance to anyone that can shed some light.

I got this letter saying if I don't pay the initial minimum payment to activate my card my account will be canceled. It also said all fees previously posted to my account will be reversed within two billing cycles. What does that mean? Do I still have to pay the fees even if I don't activate the card?? Please help!

I am purchasing a property with a 200x200ft driveway which I have just found out does not belong to the property and is Common Land. It has been used for access for the past 24 years by the vendor but not legally hers. I believe its use has never been of issue during this time. Is there a way that I can register the whole plot in my name and not allow any other persons use of it. I would be extremely greatful to hear if anyone else has any answers. Many thanks

I know that the market is bad right now, but my neighborhood is getting bad and overrun with teenage kids that are bringing down the property value. I want to get out while we still can make something off of it. We just moved in last October. We paid $165,000 and we are looking at one that is $220,000. Is it worth it to try and sell it ourselves and what would the approximate monthly payment be. Currently we pay about $1200 a month. We put nothing down on the first house with 30 year fixed at 6.25%. We hope we can sell our house for $180,000. I know it is alittle broad subject, but any help would be great.

I am trying to offer a reasonable amount to a lawyer in order to close a court case. I owe on this credit card, in which went to collections and now to a lawyer, $16??.00. I called the lawyer today and offered them $700.00 to close this debt. (Really the balance was $1391.00 but they tacked on other fees and interest.) I exsplained to them that I have not worked in over 6 months, and just started a part time job that does not pay much. And I am in need to have a surgery done within in 6 weeks that will put me out of work again. I am hoping they will accept my offer. Does anyone know if this will work? And if they don't accept this offer what next?
Please any suggestions?

P.s.
I am reading the Dave Ramsey book The total Money makeover. I've heard from Dave that this type of offer will more than likely work. But what if it does not, then what?
