I have found a couple of homes I really do like. However, my mortgage company has advised me to clear some items off before the loan can be processed. These will probably only take me about 30-60 days My problem is, the moment I find a house I like, it's gets snatched up.
Is it possible to put a contract on a home with closing in 90 days? or more?

My stepfather's parents are my landlords. I moved in to the apartment about 3 months ago. The carpet is over 10 years old, and is a blue with a brownish green hue from all the nasty stuff in it. At first it was going to be cleaned, but that didn't even get done. I was in such a hurry to move in I figured we would fight about it later. I have asthma and since we have moved in, both my son and I have been having problems breathing. Also, we were playing on the floor one day, and when I woke up the next morning, I had a horrible rash where my stomach and arms were on the carpet. Is it too late for me to fight for new carpet? I do not want to cause family problems, but even if they evict me for calling the owners, they would have to replace the carpet anyways. Also, in the doorways to the bedrooms there are huge holes from the previous tenants cats. we were told they would be replaced in 2 weeks. Nothing yet. What should I do??

I found a very good company that has 2 attractive available positions posted on its website.

I would be willing to work at either position.

Can/Should I apply to both or is that a bad idea? Will the HR department notice that I applied to both? (I bet they would).

If the HR department saw that I applied for only 1 position would they independently think I could also be a good for for the other position?

Would do you suggest, apply for just 1 or Both?

Thanks

I know you have seen them and thought the same things. You know the people that work for Wal-Mart and stand by the exit with a highlighter and look at you. Then ever know and then they stop somebody and mark their receipt without really looking at it. My main question is WHAT R THEY THERE FOR?

i always see links to recieve free grant money from the government but they always ask for money upfront and thats usually a sign they are full of s*it. (sites like fastweb don't ask for money and they are great) i live a gated community condo area , and lots of kids live there and i just wanted to start a neighborhood soccer league just for our complex as a way for kids to keep busy while at home. i'm not looking to create a fake MLS or something, just enough money for uniforms, equipment, etc. a friend suggested i look for grant money, but where?

My father claims me as dependent on his tax return, but I'm not sure how that will work this year. I was dependant on him from January to June, but since June and on I no longer am. Here is some additional information:

I am 23 and single. Do not own a home (saving). Get my degree in August (was a full time student). I started a full time job in June making 50k+ salary. I also worked part time during school and made between 7k-12k this year.

My question is can my dad still claim me as a dependant on his tax return this year? I know its technically my up to me, but I want to make sure it is legal still and the negative affect on my tax will be less $$ than the overall benefit $$$ he receives on his return. Lets say I get $1000 less and he only gains $500 from me on his return it would be stupid to claim me. Now if it where reverse I am ok with it for this year as i was dependant on him part of the year. I just wish a 1/2 year dependant claim could be done.......

I am working part time doing Gelato ice cream about 14 months and nothing happened. Till this Singapore based restaurant hired a Branch Manager who is from Europe a few months back. I came to understand that this company is not making money and he tries to keep his job by cutting costs n downsizing manpower. Infact he is drinking while on duty, enjoying the food and his job is only to say 'Welcome' in his language. He leaves his job early and sometimes he also disappeared. Two days ago a customer found two small pieces of transparent plastics or glasses in the ice cream. This Manager asked me if I heard about it asked do I have any explanation? I nodded. Later I said I hope everybody has got to be careful. He said 'I don't care and I don't want it to happen again.' The way he put is like that I am only to be blamed and I have to answer for it. I cannot guard the ice cream for 24 hours. It would be taken to another outlet and served by anybody. What would you do if you were me?

I have two 401(k) plans with different employers and wanted to roll them over into a rollover IRA. Is it possible to open just one rollover IRA account and rollover both 401(k) plans into this account? I believe there is a 60 day rule of some sort with regards to rollovers, can someone explain that to me fully and how it would apply if I did multiple 401(k) rollovers?

I also wanted to convert that rollover IRA into a Roth IRA but would it count towards my Roth IRA contributions for the year?

I'm looking into refinancing my home to get out of an adjustable rate and I've received two good faith estimates. Both for FHA loans. It's a 95% loan and one company says they can get me the loan without mortgage insurance and the other says it's a requirement.

Are they a wise short term investment?
Lets say you have $1000 to play with and you buy some shares for a penny each. When it reaches 2 penny, you sell and then BAM %%% You are RICH!!!!!

Versus you buy something that is $10 dolar a share and dont' get much if it rises by a dollar.

Do you have any suggestions on how to explain to him every room in the house needs some kind of repair and quite frankly his offer to sell at the highest price possible is unprofessional. We had the property inspected as well and the cost of repairs in in the thousands. Is this common? Any feedback would be welcomed.
