I recently accepted a job offer though a staffing agency...but the recruiter said I had to come by to fill out paperwork & that they would be running a background check. 12 years ago I was working at a convenience store & some money vanished. I've lived in the same county all this time, and I recently found out there is a pending felony charge for embezzlement. I've had several traffic tickets since, and this never came up. However, it is showing up on my background check. Is there a snowball's chance in hell I'll get hired? What would I do to get it resolved? A lawyer told me to ignore it, but I guess I can't. At the time, I took a polygraph and everything (I didn't take the money), so it's a mystery why that is out there and I didn't know until recently.

I heard there is no tax withholdings for a CA resident if investment property is in NV, because NV is a no tax state. Is this true?

My friends and I are working on a graphic novel, and we're wondering about the copyrighting process. I've seen a few posts about copyrighting, and I have found numerous links to the general process and the prices involved. Anything not ours within the work will be of public domain, so obviously we're trying to protect the overall work/characters/idea from being stolen/used without our permission.

By submitting and copyrighting a rough version of our work does it protect the idea, the characters, the plot, etc or do certain things have to be registered separately on top of that submission? Does the submission for copyright need to be a final draft, or just complete enough to encompass what we'll be using? Should we send in any future volumes in for copyright as well or does simply copyrighting the original work give us control of and copyright for further works?

Thanks for any help/tips particularly if you've dealt with the process before.

My house has been on the market for almost 6 months now, and not a single offer, I want to take it off the market after the listing contract expired and re-list with a new realtor, My question is how long do I need to wait in between to list with a new agent? Can I list it with new agent to put my house back on the market in just 2-3 weeks. And when my house is back on the market, will it show as a new listing on the market or will it still show as old listing on the market with a new realtor?

Trying to get ahead of the game, I have disputed some items on all 3 credit reports and want additional info. If a company reports only to 2 bureaus that info is current and accurate but fail to notify the 3rd bureau, is it enough cause to have it removed from the other bureaus? So if a company fails to report to all bureaus and an item is deleted from one can you have that same item deleted from another?

I am 20 years old and in college. I am already thinking ahead to my retirement. By the time I get out of school a year and a half from now I expect to have $30,000 saved up and $45,000 in loans to pay off. I will not need a car for at least 5 years, probably won't need one for like 8 years so thats not a problem. Where should I put my money to get the most out of it?

OK I have previously done a budget and according to it I make more than enough money to pay my expenses. Problem is I don't have enough. I find myself living paycheck to paycheck and sometimes getting a payday advance. Someone plese help, maybe I'm not seeing something

Here are my major expenses
Rent- $733.00
Car-$442.60
Car Insurance-$134.68
Cell Phone-$50-60
Cable- $35.23
Home Phone-$15.00
PG&E-$30.00
Gas-$50 every two weeks if I go straigh home after work
Grocery-$75-$100 a month
Misc- those little unexpected expenses

When those unexpected expenses pop up I usually have put a bill aside.

Also I don't usually pay the smaller expenses in full because I need just a little something in my pocket.
