My job called me at home last night at 945pm, they do this all the time, I am going to look for another job. I have gotten calls from work first thing Sunday morning, and as late as 1030pm. I am not a manager, I am paid by the hour.I cant leave the phone off the hook because of things going on with my family. If I dont answer the regular phone or am not at home my boss calls my cell. I have been woken up on weekend mornings, late at night, interrupted during dinner, had weekend plans interrupted, etc. I have asked that they not call me at home or on my cell during non work hoursunless it is a TRUE emergency especially late at night, they stop for a week or 2 then it starts again. The call last night at 945 was to reprimand me for a VERY minor mistake(we all make mistakes) Potential employers will ask why I am looking for another job, I am thinking of telling them it is because I am on call and that was not part of the job descrption.

18 times earnings on SP500. Book value makes up almost 30% of total SP500 market cap. That brings PE to about 11.5 on Market Cap - Assets. Figure earning are reduced 20% from non cash expenses. That would bring cash earnings to about 10 times price. Then figure in a 2% dividend and you really have the SP500 selling for about 8 times of market value - assets. This equates to about a 12% earning yield or about 150% more than a 10 year bond. Is the market really this cheap?

My Mom is about to collect on an insurance policy. When it's all said and done, she'll have about 550K in cash.
She still has a first and second mortgage.
House value is about 215K.
She owes 136K on the first but the interest rate is 5.25. I don't know how much she owes on the 2nd but it's about $185 a month. First mtg is about $1400 a month and includes insurance and taxes.
She makes about 3K a month but needs to live off of about 50K a year to keep her standard of living.
Her financial advisor wants her to pay off the house. However, if she does that, the money is no longer liquid, it's not earning anything and she'll lose the tax advantage of the interest write off. Any ideas?

My husband is purchasing a 2nd home and using our first home equity line to generate the fund for this 2nd home purchase. I've been having my own credit card debts (total close to 40k) that he does not know.

The loan agent said that may use my name for the loan cuz they think that my credit score will be better than my husband's. I'm so freaking out now cuz I know my credit score is not great at all and I'm so so so nervous that my husband will know my total credit card debts.

Should I call the loan agent not to disclose my debts to my husband or he will automatically know that its my own info and will now tell my husband know (the loan agent will run my credit check and will see all my debts).

This 2nd home I will not have my name on it but my husband thinks it does not matter and my credit should be used if it helps get a loan.

What should I do now? Should I CALL the loan agent and inform him this or I just keep praying that my husband will not know? Pls advise. Thanks

I'm wanting to make a drastic change in my life. I'm currently unhappy with what I do and do not forsee it being my permenant career. I'd like to get into the medical field by becoming an x-ray technician and eventually branching into a radiologist. Is this a good choice for someone with no experience to go to school for? And if so could you give any tips on preferred schools? I've got a wife and two kids and I want to make the best decision. Thanks in advace!

Can you choose not to answer in an interview how much is your current salary? In the place I currently work it's very well known that all employees are underpaid (small firm, etc) however, I heard that salaries represent the "value" of a person in the market. My current salary is way to low from the average. I have an interview in a few days and I'm sure they may ask me how much I'm making at my current job. I don't want that number affect a fair salary based on the market. Any suggestions? Thanks so much for your help!

I have an unpaid medical bill of $1500 from six years ago. I disputed it because the hospital "lost" all of my records and charged me for services I did not receive. This account was marked "disputed" and I never had trouble with it since then. Then all of a sudden, today I receive a notice that this account is again in collections (???) starting June 11, 2007. My credit score dropped from 730 to 650!

I am wondering if I should pay this off, or should I let another year go by. I have heard that after seven years, the collections record removed from your account. However, I am wondering if they can just keep updating this collection record every few years and make it "new" again (in other words, even if I pay if off, will it be on my credit report seven years from 2007??)

I have gotten nowhere trying to prove that I got overcharged about $800 on this bill. Any advice on what I should do?

Thank you in advance!

My ex-husband claims my oldest son (22 and a full-time student) as a dependent on his income tax. The only form of support he gives my son is paying for his health care coverage and occasional "gas" money. He does not help in any manner with tuition or room and board.

On the other hand, I have paid for room and board consistantly for the past year. In addition, I pay for books and other expenses that occur.

I feel my ex doesn't have the right to claim my son. Am I right? If so, is there anything I can do since my ex has claimed him for the past 4 years (with the same situation)?

**new info: My son lives in his own apartment when not in school. He lives there full-time (with me helping with expenses). The decree only covers through age 18. He has filed his own insurance, but his dad had it changed.

But for the life of me i cannot find where to get decent Furniture (more or less desk or cubicle type structure) but not no awful looking fold out table. Some decent comfortable semi enclosure type furniture. One that can hold a comp and monitor or hide the comp and just hold in view the monitor and keyboard. PLEASE HELP!! We are going to refinance our mortgage due to a variable rate issue in August. However, we are un-sure wether to go with a fixed rate or a 5 year ARM at a little over a .5 % less. We do not plan on starying in the house more then 3-5 years so we are considering the ARM. Is that a safe bet? We are in desperate need to reduce our monthly bills and a lower APR would help a lot. We just don't want to get into a bad situation with an ARM. Pros Vs. Cons? We currently Owe $133,000 and the house appraised right around $200,000.

I looked at my Bank Statement this morning around 1am and noticed an ATM withdrawal of $502 ($500 + 2 ATM FEE) from NY ( I live in CA). I tried calling their Customer Care department but the office was closed and didn't open until 7am. So I set my alarm to wake up at 7am and when I did, I called and realized my account again was used in NY with another ATM withdrawal of $502.

-Does anyone have any experience with BOA customer service in regards to this matter?
-How willing are they with refunding my money?
-How long does the process take?

Please help.

Thanks
