amount from my apartment. Is this deductible? I have nothing but office stuff in my study and never really even go into the room unless I am doing work for my company.

If this is deductible what all should I do for documentation?
* Take a picture of the room?
* Print out documentation of my VPN Broadband account information.
* Floor plans of the apartment to prove the size of the room?
* Do I need to get copies of all my electric bills and DSL charges?

Thanks.

I gave my notice of termination to my landlord. Upon hearing that, he decided to do major remodelling work in the house while I am still there which will cause my family ( I have two young kids ) major discomfort ( noise, smell, dust ..) . He wants to put the house for sale on the market as soon as I am out and wants to complete all work by that date. Can I refuse access to the property when his contractor shows up ?

Hi,

I'm moving from LA to Cleveland as soon as my home sells. I will be visiting LA for a week this Thursday, and I'm trying to come up with a list of good communities to check out while I'm in town.

Here is kind of a synopsis of what I'm looking for:
- good public schools (my daughter will be entering high school soon)
- in reasonable driving distance of Encino since I will be attending school there
- reasonably priced rental units and homes/condos

Although I plan to rent at first, it is my ultimate goal to purchase a home or a condo. So, I'm really looking for a reasonably priced apartment and then ultimately, I would like to buy a home in the same neighborhood within the next year or two.

I am a communications professional and I would be seeking a job that involves marketing communications and/or public relations so proximity to magazines/newspapers/media companies is a definite plus.

Thank you SO much for any ideas that you have--it is much appreciated!!!

Review it, push a pencil on your own situation, and support it if you can see the advantages. If I got the employers share of Social Security and Medicare added to my paycheck I would get about a 7% immediate raise in take home pay with at least an $800 rebate.above the 23% sales tax.

You have been given an account to by your supervisor to contact and develop - this will be your first call to Adam Throup who is listed as the IT manager. There has be nothing spent in 8 months and prior to that it was minimal.

The company is called Franks Greeting cards; they manufacture greeting cards and sell them through their own outlets and other card retailers.

They have just purchased a smaller greeting card manufacture and this will add further brands to their product range and hence expansion in the next quarter.

Other depts we arer aware of are Sales, Marketing and Training.

There is a wide range of information that you can get from the call you need to maximise every opportunity you can get during the call.

How would you go about getting this client back? What questions would you ask regarding the new business link? What info would you need that might not be in the brief

12 apartments just burned down in the townhouse complex we live in. We had to call the fire dept last night cause our electrical socket in our master bedroom started sparking and almost caught fire and there was nothing plugged into it. I have a 2 and a half year old and cant sleep now since the fireman said if we would have fallen asleep we may not have made it. I am scared to death and want out of this place. Is this a credible reason to break a lease?

Hello,

I was just wondering whether the following scenario is true:

I have a stock that I had planned to hold for a long time (definitely over a year). I bought it 10 days ago and as of today, the value of my purchase has dropped $1000.

I still plan to hold the stock, but my question is this: should I sell the stock and buy it back at the same price seconds later? My reasoning is that I will be able to declare the $1000 loss on my taxes for this year (short term), and when I finally sell the stock (hopefully for a profit) the amount that I regain will be taxed at the long term rate (as well as in a later year).

Is this correct?

Thanks!!

PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THIS UNLESS YOU WORK WITH IT AND KNOW IT WELL, I DON'T WANT SITES TO GO TO, NOR UNEDUCATED GUESSES, jokes are always ok as I love humor but i am looking for some basic info. I am 56, a numbers person & used to B more on top of this, but life has changed so much since I've been sick 4 10 years & rather out of it. I want 2 pay a couple of bills w- my new credit card, like some of the house taxes I owe,& first i want 2 determine which 1 actually charges me the true highest interest when compared in like terms (apples to apples ) I used 2 use APr questions, but now I see EAR or such ?? & on ebay I am being charged 1.5% 4 any unpaid monthly fee charges, but what does this 1.5% mean ?? I need a standardized term & also I used 2 know about car loans & how horrribly that interest is calculated & fixed home loans but now that I'm going2 refi my house in the next couple of years, I want to locate the best way and be able to compare interest apples to apples

I thought it was at least partially a design job, but it is a detail oriented managerial position working with non-creative people in a catty and conservative office full of bitchy office ladies. I am totally miserable and this job makes me feel like an idiot every part of every day. I don't like moving around from job to job, but clearly I need to do something. What would a good exit strategy be? I don't want to screw over the company, but I am screwing over myself by leaving with no option and would never just immediately leave without tying things up.

I am currently trying to decide whether to get my LPN or RN. I just moved to Sarasota, FL and the community college here has a waiting list for the RN program...so basically the soonest I would be able to begin the program would be Fall 2008 even though I have already completed ALL of the prerequisite classes at another community college in Jacksonville. The technical school here offers a one year LPN program which I could start in August this year...plus they have night classes which is VERY important since I have a two year old and no family here to care for her....and daycare is sooo expensive when you only have one income. I'm just confused because I have heard that it's not worth it to get your LPN then go on to RN because RNs make so much more. Also since I have taken the time to take ALL the prereqs for the RN program, it's kind of annoying to have to wait over a year to start it. I know either way that my goal is to be a RN, I just can't decide which route to take.

Help!! I left my job recently and I didn't give them any notice. I'm not saying that it was the right thing to do, it wasn't and I should not have done it. But anyway, my (ex) boss owes me a total of 5 weeks pay which he is refusing to pay! I understand he's a bit p*ssed that I didn't give him notice but surely he cannot keep 5 weeks worth of money from me. What can I do to get my money? Obviously there's court but that'd take weks, or months! I rang them last week and they kept saying to "come up at this time" so I'd go up and they'd tell me "No, (the boss) isn't here right now, come again tomorrow at this time" I eventually got to speak to the boss today and he said a) u never came in to the office last week (Uh, yes I did) b) well, then u never made an appointment (Again, yes I did) and then c) U've stolen from me. WTF?? I asked him what he thought I'd stolen and he could not give me a straight answer! BTW, I had no contract with these "people"

Hi everyone, I'd like some professional or anecdotal advice pelase:

I handed in my notice (4 weeks) a few weeks ago. My official last working day is Friday 22nd June. I have 8.5 days holiday outstanding - I want to take them which means my last actual working day will be this Tuesday (tomorrow), leaving after lunch. I am happy to work the afternoon and just start my hols on Wed. My employer is not co-operating; my boss will not make herself available to discuss and confirm that she is happy with this (because she is cross I am leaving).
Can my boss make me work until 22nd June and pay me 8.5 days extra, or should I be allowed to take it?

I want to inlarge my kitchen, no new appliances, but extra oven, enlarge dining room, new carpets throughout house, pay off college loan and car loan. This would wipe out my IRA. But, I would have no home loan, nor any other bills, other than nomal cost of living.
