real estate folks and articles....currently small setback...prices will continue to rise in a year or so...etc, etc

economists and others...not so rosy picture...the bubble will burst anywhere from 20-50% drops

i can see realtors lying, since they need to make a living and would rather have potential buyers not wait, and prevent their commissions from falling in the mean time

whats your thoughts?

When would you want to buy a house in a flat real estate market? (http://www.fortwayne.com/mld/newssentinel/16526098.htm). There is only one suitable employer. And although I have friends and family in the area which would cause me to want to stay for a long time, I really don't foresee living in the area past 5 years. Can anyone think of good reasons why one would want to buy a house in this market?

I recently got a letter from my bank saying I owed them $199 from "late payments" on my mortgage. (you know how your mortgage is due and if you pay it late they tack on a charge) Well, everytime my husband went to pay our mortgage even if it was late, the bank teller never tacked on the charge. Anyways, they are saying their going to take us to collections for the amount due, does this mean their going to try and take our house? We have never missed a month on our mortgage, just a few times they didnt tack on the late charge...can anyone answer?

Please give me all the resources you have, i am desperate! My dog is sweet and only 50lbs (full grown at 2 yrs old), but everyone discriminates. Not to mention, my mother is disabled, on section 8. So the odds are really stacked against us, but we really need to move, where we live the people hate us. Please help if you have something constructive. Please don't answer telling me to get rid of my pit, or how dangerous they are.

My husband and I received a letter from IRS stating that we are now responsible for $13,000 taxes on an income of $64,000. We were part of a mortgage scam 6 years ago and the home was foreclosed on. The mortgage company sent the IRS a form stating that they 'forgave' our loan and now the IRS is treating it as an income. We have contacted IRS and were told to talk to someone at the mortgage company and get a corrected form that shows it was foreclosed on -not forgiven. We tried that and they told us all our records were purged from their records. They were very rude and asked us" well what do expect us to do?" What do we do now? We can't afford to pay this, and were hoping to get taxes back this year. If anyone can help us please do. Oh and if you have nothing intelligent to say please don't answer. I don't need sarcasm.

I've got my W-2's but I haven't gotten a tax booklet in the mail. I've been to the Post Office and there are no signs of tax stuff. I guess I could go to the IRS office but what about the one I need for the state? Where do I get that one? Is it just too early or what? Do you only get the booklets if you are employed?
