Good question. That's a tough one considering that most job applications ask if you have ever been convicted of a felony. I guess if you haven't been convicted.....but have been charged...then you could say no. I'm not trying to persuade you one way or another, but from my experience, a bachelors degree is pretty much worthless unless it's in business, or nursing. Maybe an option for you would be a technical school....like a vo-tech, ITT tech...etc. Learn a trade as in electrical and plumbing. It pays well and eventually you could have your own private "company." The felony is going to surround you forever. I have no idea of your interests, but you should choose a trade/educational background of something you enjoy and think you might be good at. Any mechanical work would pay descent as well and the employer might be more approachable about the subject of a felony than say an accounting firm. Find out what YOU want and are interested in, then decide on the liklihood of achieving that with a felony on your record. Good Luck

Your only hope would be to know someone that owns a company or a business that would hire you after you get a college degree.

If you don't know anyone then I think I would go talk to the counselor at the college and explain your situation to him/her. They could give you some advice. I am sure they have had to deal with this situation in the past. I am sure it depends on your age and the circumstances of the robbery too. That is where I would start.

Um,

I was brought up to believe that if you commited a crime you would be unable to get a job.

However there are a lot of organisations (particularly in Australia) that help ex crims get work.

Look I know we all make mistakes, so I won't sit in judgement of you, but I wish you the best of luck in your endeavour to succeed.
