I wanted to know if people who get food stamps are allowed to have a bank and savings account? Will they be able to save by having a Roth IRA? Will they get penalized for having those accounts? They lose money going to the corner store and currency exchange. I want to help a mother in this situation. Please help.

In the state of Illinois, can a job refuse to hire you because you have a misdemeanor? I know they can refuse to hire you because of felonies, because I always thought they couldn't because of misdemeanors.

I left one for a competitor. Another I refused a job offer to return. I need sterling references and though I did good work, I still wonder what they might say.

I was just wondering how many people out there are working under stressful conditions. I work in a middle school and everyone at my job is totally depressed and stressed due to administrative pressure and a total lack of respect on the part of the majority of students. Admittedly, some of the staff is "burned out" and need to retire. But others are working hard, arriving early, staying late, buying their own materials, trying everything they can to get the job done. But it seems to be an uphill battle all of the time. I was just wondering how "life" is at other job sites. Is high-level stress" a common thread? Please share your situation. More importantly, if you can share any ideas you have on how to relieve some of the stress and pressure, please do so. Thanks a lot.

I am a freshman, my major right now is undecided. I love math and I know I want to do something with lots of math. I hear that actuary would be a great career for me. I don't want to go to grad school but I want good money and a good job. Right now I'm taking a chemistry class and I hate it. I don't really like science. I'm not so sure about economics but I'm looking into it. My mother says I'll grow to like it but I am struggling. Is it worth taking these classes? What kind of classes should I take? I would love to hear from people who are actuaries.

My bank sends me quarterly bank reports. I don't really have anything of note on them as I pay my credit cards off in full on time.

I know there are suggestions as to how long to keep credit bills, bank statements, receipts, tax returns, etc. What is it for credit reports from Equifax, etc?

When I opened my checking account I also gave my mother a debit card to acess my account. I did this because I know she's in debt and so instead of her having to call me all the time and borrow cash, she can use it whenever as long as she tells me first. My parents are seperated however they're still living together. I am saving for a car, so my father drives me to work. I appreciate him doing this, however I recently found out my mother gave him, her debit card to get gas. There was no money in my account and so I recieved an overdraft fee. I didn't sweat it because I know I would be responsible for gas if I had my own car. However recently he's been using it for his expenses like credit reports and parking. I've recieved two overdrafts since then. When I tell him this he complains because he owes the IRS and so he doesn't have any money. When I go out my bf pays for everthing and although he says he doesn't mind I want to have my own money. Any ideas on how to tell him to lay off?
