I think I am really underpaid and have a review for an increse in pay cominin up in march maybe sooner. What is the best website to figure out what I should be making that is most accurate. Is any out there worth paying for?

Basically I have worked for this company for 1 1/2 years when my review comes up in quality control in injection molding/manufacturing. I have an additional 5 years expierence that is the same but a little diffrent which is in extrusion/manufacturing. Im only making 26,300 a year. Been in no trouble, able to do my job with no supervision occasional questions though, got put on my own after 1 week of training, no write ups. What is the best to go about asking for the raise. What should I say and not say when I ask for it. Should I say that I may have to look for other employment. Company is relatively small about 40 employees but I know what one of the other qcs is making and it is like 4,000 more a year with less expierence. Im not as demanding as her.

I am a musician, and I purchased an iPod in order to listen to and study music I either perform or have my students perform while I travel. I have downloaded my own and my students' recordings onto it as well to study. I also happen to use it daily at the gym while I work out. Can I deduct any portion of the total cost of the iPod ($399.00)from my taxes?

I just did a balance transfer into a new citi card. I did not receive the first statement, so I got a second one (for me the first one) charging me an extra 40 dollars for late payment and now my 0% APR has become a 12% APR. I do not care paying the late payment fee, but is there any way to keep my 0% APR taking into account that I NEVER received the first statement??? I do not even have the credit card, so I could not even log into the internet because I did not have my credit card number or verification code...

It is supposed to be a company that helps with getting a home based business--typing or things like that. They charge a fee. I know people say don't sign up for anything that charges a fee. But does anyone know if they are actually a reputable company?

What happens if the deceased lived in a state with no income or inheritance taxes, but the heir lives in a state with both?

Also, I know there is an exemption level that is rising slightly each year until about 2010. In my case there are multiple heirs. Is the deceased's estate taxed according to the exemption, and then divided up between the heirs? Or is the estate divided first, then each heir only pays taxes on his or her portion that is above the exemption level?

Planning on doing an interest only loan on a home we will be selling in less than 6 months. Is this a good idea? Is there small print? I'm thinking the lower mortgage payment would be a good idea, since we are just flipping the house.

We would like to do several home improvement projects and pay off some credit cards. The HELOC option seems to be more appealing to us so we take only what we need yet getting a loan gives us the option to hold the funds in a high interest bearing savings account (4.50 APY). How do I know what is right for us?

If you put one on your house say 20 years ago, do we have to keep updating them as the properly increases in value or does the original one stick and cover us indefinitely ?the property value obviously increases over the years, especially if you are modernizing your home.

My husband is in the Army, he claims California as his state of residence but we are not stationed there nor do we make any money IN California. So, his military pay should be state tax exempt. We have had no problems with this, but occasionally the Army messes up and charges state tax. For example in 2006 he paid $20.15 in state taxes and is due a refund of 100% of that.

My problem is that he just reenlisted and his bonus was charged state tax again. It came out to about $905. I know that if we wait till next year and file our state taxes again we'll get 100% refund of that, but I don't want to wait a year for $905 that should not have gone to them in the first place. Is there anyway that I could get California to refund that money now or that I can get teh Army payroll depratment to correct that now? It seems a waste to let the state have $905 of our money for a year.
