What should I do now. Act like it didn't bother me or complain to everyone who will listen. I can't stop crying.

I hate to say this but get used to it. This is how business is being done these days. It stinks but it is the norm. There are businesses that are still run on integrity but you will have to look for them. There is always somebody out there who is sneakier, less honest or more willing to compromise themselves for advancement.

Find another job with another company. The taint of this will follow you through this company. You can find someone in the company who knows the caliber of work you did. Use them as a reference.

Good luck to you. What happened to you stinks.

Maybe it wasn't fair, but it happens. Do NOT whine and complain to anyone who will listen. It will get you nowhere. If you truly don't know why this happened, make an appointment with your boss (don't go over their heads) and calmly, and professionally ask them "What could I have done differently to have been considered for this promotion?" You did the job for 6 months, but did you do it well? Perhaps you could have done it better. Do not make it sound like you blame someone or are accusing someone of passing you over. Maybe there is some experience you lack, or a course you could take that would put you in better standing the next time. Maybe they just wanted someone more seasoned, or with more experience. If your boss does not know the answer, ask them if it's alright with them if you arrange to speak with whoever does. Once you find out, it's up to you. If you accept the answer as reasonable and choose to work on it, thinking of next time, great. If not, quietly look for another position and give plenty of notice when you quit. Do not speak poorly about this job to your future employers, and do not have any angry or disgruntled exit interviews. It's never wise to burn your bridges behind you. You could find that person becomes your boss again in the future. Through it all, be professional. And do your crying at home.

I feel your pain. I wrote about wanting to die last night. I am BPD too. But look at all the progress you have made! You have not been hospitalized in a long time, you no longer cut yourself, and you are able to be in a relationship with your husband and therapist. I am sorry you got passed over for the job. Maybe another one will come up and by then you will have shown your boss that you are trustworthy. Just remember, work is not everything. Just the fact that you are employed is a credit. You should be proud of all your accomplishments. You have come along way.

Certainly do not complain to anyone. This would not be very professional. You need to just go to your boss and ask why you did not receive the promotion. Especially after you did the job for 6 months. Were they not happy with your performance? Did you perform the job to their expectations? Explain to them why you feel as though you should have received this promotion. These are questions I would ask. If you do not like the answer, look for another job. Good Luck

Wait until your emotions are more in check, and then prepare a written/mental list of your accomplishments and why you felt you should have gotten the job. Then have a rational, businesslike discussion with the boss along the lines of why didn't I get the job and what do i need to do in the future to get promoted. Depending on your personal situation (age/marital status/time with that company, etc etc) you may well be better off looking around, but this kind of discussion should help you with that thought process

I think that you need to focus on what you need to do to get the job next time. I know the pain of not getting a job when you think you deserve it, but learn from it. This will display how responsible you are to those in power. I have found in the past that just because I didn't get a job, doesn't make it a bad thing, and have gotten better jobs, later on.

Look for a new job. Complaining wont do nothing but piss everyone off. Apparently, this company doesnt value your input, or only values it on the level you are now. That probably isnt going to change much. If you were passed over once, chances are you will be continuously passed over, until the reason you are passed over is removed.

It's obvious that your company doesn't appreciate you or your skills and nothing is going to change. It's time to move on. Don't waste your tears on them. More importantly, don't sour your reputation by complaining to others. Just keep your head high and move on!

The best choice is to complain whenever you have the oppurtunity.Complain atlunch, complain atwork, complain outsideof the office. That way, your boss will realize what you have done and promote you. Trust me, it worked for me.

Start looking for another job. When you find one, tell your boss exactly why you are leaving.
