Do you have to update Declaration of Homesteads?

If you put one on your house say 20 years ago, do we have to keep updating them as the properly increases in value or does the original one stick and cover us indefinitely ?the property value obviously increases over the years, especially if you are modernizing your home.

I assume you are referring to homestead exemptions? If so, you don't need to update it unless you move. Of course you need to apply for homestead initially, but after that, afaik, you are covered.
