I have a problem, My manager told me the general manager wanted to lay me off before Christmas, however, he was able to talk him out of it. He is a real jerk ( the General Mngr,) and will probally lay me off or demote my position. Heres the problem.... I want him to lay me off because I hate working for him. How do I get him to do this?

I have been purchasing series EE bonds for about 2 years now, one $100.00 bond every month. I have 23 bonds. Should I start alternating with I Bonds? I know the EE Bonds stop losing interest at 30 years. Does that mean that the value only goes to $100.00? Or does it go above that? I need to know if these are good investments.

A trucking company that my brother works for is going through a slow period, and is trying to get rid of full-time (by turning them into part-time) employees. First of all, it is a non-union company, so everyone there must look out for themselves. Secondly, he would lose his benefits, and take a pay cut by taking a part-time position. Would it be possible to collect unemployment if he refuses to take a part-time position? He would rather make them pay him for doing nothing if he is going to lose his health benefits anyway.

I am an international student studying in London. I work part-time in a chain of stores. From my earnings, 25% of it gets deducted as Tax(P.A.Y.E). I have heard that students can claim the tax back from the Inland Revenue and Customs. I visited the website but couldnt really find the eligibility criteria for the claims. I am a bit alien to how this system works in the UK. It would be great if you help me out with this. I am willing to further share details if required.

There is one individual, who is sleeping with one of the HR reps. He went to her with lies about me and a co-worker. It turned into a huge deal with upper management. So much so, that the co-worker was told to stay away from me. I talked to my boss and he said not to worry about it. We let time pass, and now we have started to go to lunch again. The HR rep saw us, a group of people mind you, and is stirring things up again. What to do? We have been singled out, and I'm sick of it!!

My boss keeps breaking the law, not giving me a lunch break, making me work every night from 1pm-10pm, and just not being a fair person. I had to have surgery so I left for 6 weeks, he was fine before that but when I got back he was bitter and giving me this whack schedule, I used to have the same schedule every week but now he scattered it around so I can never plan anything! Ever since I got back he's been a total jerk and I can't quit because I have bills to pay and no other job will hire me with the same pay I'm getting now. I would go to the district manager and complain but him and my boss are buddies.. What do I do??? And he's doing this to almost all my other co-workers!

With a bankruptcy 2 yeas ago and restablished credit card history, with no outstanding balances, steady long term work history and a substantial downpayment, does a person have a good chance at a decent mortgage interest rate? Oh, current mortgage was never in default and always current. Thanks.

I asked a question here, but i think i didnt explain my question properly.

I and my spose are in separate states -- so for my state taxes, could i take take two exemptions, though i am filing as married, filing separately? I understand that on federal filing, if i file as married&separate, i can get only one exemption, but my question is to do with the state, and we are not double-counting exemption on same income.

I am ofcourse only including my income, in the wages derived from my state -- similarly she counts only her income in her filing in the state she is working in, and takes 2 exemptions for her state. That way, we are not double-counting, on the same dollar of income - we are getting only 2 exemptions (being married) on each dollar of income (not 4).
