I applied to a security company i KNOW im qualified for. I have 8 years honorable service in the military as well. Is it rude to call and check a week after you submitted a resume? I feel i may be discriminated against because i am a smaller female, any help would be appreciated.

I really do not know what career I should choose. I definitely do not want to be in the medical or the technical field.
Any advice?

my father in-law deposits money in my account every month becuase he got a loan from me and my husband. so thats how he pays us back monthly is depositing money in our account himself. my question is, is it normal for the bank to give him a receipt afterwards with our account balance on it? we trust him obviously because he has our account # so today, during a conversation, he mention how much we have in our bank account which its exactly right. I didn't think that they would give a receipt with our account balance on it to somebody thats not us. my point is, he can deposit money in there but we don't want him to know how much money we have. we have him do it because he lives close to the bank and we live almost an hour away from it. its been good to us so when we moved, we stayed with the same bank. hes not doing anything wrong, I just wish that the bank don't give him a receipt with our account balance on it. is this perfectly normal or am I overreacting?

I have an ebay account, but I can only buy stuff since I dont have a bank account or whatever you need to sell stuff.

Is there anyway I can use my moms checking account or anyway to sell stuff without having to have that? I really dont want to pay 20 dollars a month just so I can have a checking account just for ebay.

Thanks! =D

I hear that there is actually NO LAW that allows for taxes to be collected on income. If there is a law that allows for taxes to be levied, where is it. How can we see a copy of the law (it should be on "the books" somewhere, right?

Is there an amendment that stipulates the guidelines and requirements?

I really want to know!

Two weeks ago I started a new job. I work three days a week as a research assistant at a University Medical Plaza. It seems like the week winds down on Thursday. Today I joined the "lunch club." They put the phones on service for two and a half hours and then had a nice relaxing lunch. I showed my work to my supervisor and left for the day.

One person makes almost double the other, but when the paycheks for both arrive every 2 weeks there's not a significant difference between the 2 because the high paying one gets taxed to death.

I live and work in NYC. For my job, I worked at a client in New Jersey for 145 hours in 2006 and the rest of my time was in NY. How do I file for this? Do I have to file a Federal, NY State, and NJ state return? And I'm filing for the first time in NYC, so is there a separate return for there also, since I'm paying city tax?

Also, do I have to claim Expense Reimbursements?

Thanks

Today I went to my local halifax branch to make a deposit into my account, only to be told by the teller that they no longer accept deposits over the counter for my account type. She then said I would have to use the deposit machine with a huge queue even though ALL the tellers where free.

Q1. Have you had the same problem?
Q2. Would you accept this from a bank that's meant to 'give you extra'?
Q3. Do you think this is a way the bank intends to cut its staff by using machines to cut costs?
Q4. Can you recommend a bank other than Halifax?

PLEASE NOTE

This isn't a joke, I have a standard cash card account to which a pay in around 18 grand a year.

I work for a office, I'm not going to get into details. My boss makes life miserable for everyone. However, that isn't my problem..."Boss" is targeting a lady in my office and now I think the boss doesn't like me because the lady and I have become friends. I feel as if the boss will target me if that lady ever quits or gets fired. Before we became friends, my boss was really nice to me but now, i'm becoming a problem. Nothing has changed work wise, I am trying my hardest and have only been there for a short time. (Less than 6 months.) I do not let our friendship get in the way of work but I feel if I continue my friendship it is going to jeopardize my job. The more we go out on breaks or hang out, the more negative it becomes. However, I will not stop my friendship. Am I being too sensitive or paranoid or is my boss going over the line into my personal life? Should I be job searching tonight? I am fed up and upset.
