I work for a office, I'm not going to get into details. My boss makes life miserable for everyone. However, that isn't my problem..."Boss" is targeting a lady in my office and now I think the boss doesn't like me because the lady and I have become friends. I feel as if the boss will target me if that lady ever quits or gets fired. Before we became friends, my boss was really nice to me but now, i'm becoming a problem. Nothing has changed work wise, I am trying my hardest and have only been there for a short time. (Less than 6 months.) I do not let our friendship get in the way of work but I feel if I continue my friendship it is going to jeopardize my job. The more we go out on breaks or hang out, the more negative it becomes. However, I will not stop my friendship. Am I being too sensitive or paranoid or is my boss going over the line into my personal life? Should I be job searching tonight? I am fed up and upset.

Basically you are describing a form of harassment in the workplace. This is not acceptable and against all the rules. If the boss steps over the line then a legal action could proceed. Bosses are not aware of this until it happens. A legal action of this nature is compensable and once a business suffers this type of action they soon introduce a solid workplace bullying and harassment policy and procedure.

You will NOTchange him/her (the boss). So you decided if you can take the "heat" or does your stomach being all balled up in knots bother you? Hmmm? You choose. It's your stomach.
