The above answer has some good points. I would certainly recommend you do your homework before you move. I've looked through apartment rental magazines - and between you and me they are terrible. Crummy apartments in terrible locations look like you are vacationing in Hawaii.

If you can, stay in a hotel for a few days. Talk with the people who work there. Heck, post another question on this forum about the city/state you are thinking of moving to.

You can get an apartment by looking up apartment complexes and filling out their paperwork, etc. I doubt they will lease to you without seeing you AND your ID in person. If you are moving b/c of a job, your employer may be able to assist.

Best of luck.

Moving out of state.....Simply pack your things and move. Getting an apartment without searching for it is living in pure fantasy land, unless you are moving to a remote part of the world. It's easy to find apartments at remote areas without looking too hard. As for cities, big towns etc. if you want a good apt. start looking; good apts don't magically appear because everyone wants them.
