This debt has already been on my credit report once and was dropped 8 years ago. Now they have sent it to a collection agency who has had it put back on my credit report

If you lived in a house/appartment that was to have 4 people living in 3 rooms (2 of the people being boyfriend and girlfriend), how do you divide up the rent? Do all 4 split the rent 4 ways? Or should the boyfriend/girlfriend split 1/3 of the rent and everyone pay 1/4 of the utilities? What is the norm?

I know there are lots of laws i have to be aware of, but my main concern is that i can take advantage of my self employed status by claiming for lots of expenses, trouble is i dont know which and what. I recently discovered i have a default on my credit file which is preventing me from getting a mortgage through a reputable lender.
The default is over a mobile phone contract for 100 quid which i simply stopped paying as they wouldnt give me any option to terminate the contract when i temporarily moved overseas, and since i had moved i didnt receive any of the warning letters.

I have sent several letters asking if the default can be removed given the circumstances ( and i have paid the full ammount owed) but the phone company insist they will not remove the entry.
i can get a shady mortgage through dodgy firms ok but i feel this is unfair since this default is the only blot on my credit file and i refuse to be forced down this route.
any similar experiences?
would i have been better off settling the account by some other means than complete payment?

I had finished B.Sc. Electronic media. I know Digital Film making, Photography, Video and Audio Editing, Audio mixing, Compositing etc., I would like to start an advertising company to do ad films, corporate films, documentaries, music videos, Ad/modelling/industrial/nature photography, Edtiting etc., I want to know what are all the things that i should keep in mind before starting. My company's 401k plan only has two choices for domestic growth funds: Calamos Growth A, and Victory Diversified Stock A. Being a 22 year old, which one would make more sense to me?

The Calamos fund has 4-stars from Morningstar, but seems to be very, very volatile.

The Victory fund only has 3-stars, but doesn't seem to have as many ups and downs.

Which would you more experienced investors recommend I go with? Or should I split the money I'm putting into domestic growth 50/50 between them, or what? Thanks!
