This is not about lying, but I'm in a debate with a friend and we're just trying to get this cleared up. Honestly, does anyone know if an employer can really find out if a person holds a certification or not?

And you were paid cash...(not very much, by the way)... hypothetical question... to see what the perameters of a resume should be...

Would you put it on your resume?

Would the past employer get upset with all of the calls for employment questions?

My interview is at a dentist office for customer service... and my temp job was in the mall selling puzzles.

I am considering starting an in-home child care business. I need to bring in around $300-400 a week and was wondering if in-home can be lucrative, as well as rewarding. I would love to hear how much people charge, how many kids they have alone, with no assistance, and what are the ups and downs of this?

Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you had experience with this. I'm intending to sublet my apartment for a year. I don't want to use a broker. I have a great couple who want to take the place. They have great jobs etc. What is the procedure though? I should ask for a security deposit, right? They move-in date would be January 20th. Should they pay the security deposit AND the first month's rent upfront before I give them keys and sign the lease? Should I accept a personal check for this or should I ask for a money order, cashier's check or cash for the initial upfront payment?

This is a "legal" sublet and I have authority to sublet my place.

I am 63 years old. I have $250,000 in a 401k and $100,000 in other cash assets (bonds, savings accounts, cd's, individual stocks, etc). My pension is $100,000 per year and increases automatically by 3% each Jan.1. I have a daughter and son-in-law that I help out financially to the tune of about $10,000-$15,000 per year. I, therefore, need to tap my 401k's or other sources to maintain my lifestyle. I was thinking instead of taping my own resources, I would take out a home equity line of credit for 7 years until I have to withdraw from my 401k's. Would this be my best option?

An investor places 30% of his funds in Security A and the balance in Security B. The expected returns on A and B are 12% and 18%, respectively. The standard deviations of returns on A and B are 20% and 15% respectively.

(a)Calculate the expected return on the portfolio.

(b)Calculate the Variance of returns on the portfolio assuming that the
correlation between the returns on the two securities is:
I.1.00
II.0.7
III.0
IV.- 0.7
...
Please also mention the formula which u use to solve the problem. Thanks a lot

Can someone tell me the difference plu the pros and cons of each one. Unfortunately im not very financially savvy so i will need someone to break it down in simple terms.
