Hello,
I just created a site but i had thoughts how to get the content copyrighted.
How does a logo become a trademark do we have to register these things somewhere or are they our own claim.?
Please help me also if you could give me an honest review of my site http://searchin.50webs.com/ tell me how should i improve it I dont get traffic but do not give ways which require spending good bucks.

Above two answered as per US law but buddy i think u r an Indian. In India, there is a Copyright Law. As per this law every work done by any person is automaticaly copyrighted evenif it is not a registered trademark. The only thing you need to prove is that it is your work. For example in case of sites, if you have old copy of webpages since the date you updated them, then you can prove that it is yours. For more exact information I will perfer you to visit http://www.patentoffice.nic.in. There is one site for Copyright Office also. I dont know exactly the address but I visited it once. So you type "Copyright India" in google and search. Best Luck.

I checked your site & based on the USPTO's specifications, you have a stylized mark and NOT a logo.

To register a trademark, that's done either through your Secretary of State for a State trademark or the US Patent & Trademark Office for a Federal trademark.

If you are only conducting business in one state, then a State trademark is most appropriate. If you conduct (OR are planning to conduct) business in at least 2 states OR between the US & any other country, you can file for a Federal trademark.

Prior to investing your time, money & effort into a name, it is strongly advised that comprehensive research be conducted to ensure that the name you're interested in is truly available.

This entails searching the pending & registered Federal and State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files. Then, if clear, you can decide if you would like to file for a Federal or a State trademark.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Intellectual property is copyrighted by the very fact that you've published it. You can further copyright it by filling with the U.S. Library of Congress Copyright Office.
Trademarks can & should be registered to keep others from using your ideas for their profit.

there are registered rights to protect their good will of the company or organisation. if their business is promotiong becoz of you they may not say anything becoz they are getting benefit out of it. if they think that you are taking away or diverting their business or bringing any loss or gaining by their ideas or logos they can sue you and can take legal action against you.

copy right is for ideas/scripts/writings/literature
trade mark for designs/logos/art work
