I've recently been offered a new position in a company, which I'm due to start in early January. Since being offered the job a company called Inchcape has bought out the company. I could do with some good honest advice from people who have first hand experience of Inchcape in order that I can consider / reconsider my decision to move companies. Thank You

I work in the care with mentally ill patients and have two 20 minute breaks a day.

There is only ever one member of staff on their break at any given time incase an incident may occur.

During breaks staff sometimes run errands (picking kids up from school, filling the car up with petrol or even going to their car and making a phone call) we all live locally and never exceed our 20 minutes, due to the hours we work we have to do these things on our breaks

We dont get paid for our breaks however our employer has recently stated that we must stay in the staff room and not leave the hospital incase an incident occurs, however there is always plenty of staff on the hospital floor when a person is on break.

Can my employer dictate where i have my break and what i do in my break times?

fill out all kinds of tax forms, where I had to essentially say that I was an independent contractor performing a service for them, etc. All the forms were properly filled out and given to the organization, so presumably they will report my earnings to the Feds. No problem... My question is - will they also report my earnings to the state? (West Virginia) And if so, do I need to fill out a tax return for that state, even though I don't live there? Or should I report the income to the state in which I live?

Also, should I claim my mileage that I drove to get to the conference and back?

How do you get your employees to listen to you when they know they can just go over your head to your boss if they don't like what you tell them?

you have to be careful of what you say...can you just say politely..".wow! that is intrusive"...is that ok...cuz you do not want to be fired for inappropriately talking to a co-worker...because you do NOT WANT TO ANSWER THERE NOSY QUESTIONS...

So I am a Jr. in college and I took my math final about 3 days ago. During my final, I caught the boy sitting to my right blatantly cheating off of my paper on four occasions. My test was 2 pages mult. choice and the rest was full answers and problem solving. Throughout my whole test, he made me feel uncomfortable. I am not a "goody-goody" teacher's pet. I am actually not that great in math anyways... Why he would cheat, I do not know. All I know is that this has been a moral dilemma and I really feel robbed b/c I really did work hard and studied. Should I write my teacher an email and let her know what happened? I just do no want her to think I was an accomplice.
