Keep in mind, this question is not purely concieved from curiousity. I am a reasonably young man - under 21, and I am currently a student attempting to acheive my BS in Business Admin. I have no debts, and no present or future school fees to be concerned with, and I live in Southern California. What sort of options do I have when it comes to investment, and who would you reccomend I speak with?

The Fed buys $100,000 worth of U.S. Treasury bonds in an open market purchase. Assume that the reserve requirement is 10 percent, the banking system as a whole holds no excess reserves, and that the nonbank public is holding all the currency it wants. Show the impact of this injection of reserves, assuming that some banks in the system choose to purchase securities rather than to make loans with the increase in reserves.

For many years, Federal Reserve officials kept their policy decisions secret, claiming that surprises were more effective than announcements and that even accurate information could mislead financial markets. What do you think of this argument?

My class ring is made of platinum and silver. The stone is a smooth cubic zarconia. It has my school mascot, name, school name, graduation year (2006), and icons that represents my interests. I paid $337 for it. I bought it in November 2005. I don't wear it anymore (i regret buying it). Is it possible to sell it or pawn it? I know no one out there has exactly the same things about them on the ring.

My partner is currently on long term incapacity benefit, we have discussed me moving in with him, i work full-time, would he lose his incapacity or have it reduced as i work full time?

Or would it just be a case of losing the housing benefit and council tax benefit as obviously i would be able to pay that once living with him?

I heard something today that seemed to be indicitave of the fundamental change that has occured over the past 40 years or so in American business. A company was referring to it's employees as "Human Capital". The view that employees are simply resouces to be used and discarded, whatever will earn the most profit, seems to be prevalent today. 40 years ago I do not believe that this was the case. Today you have CEO's making 20 or 30 million dollars a year who will proceed to lay off 1,000 workers to save money. Walmart is trying to eliminate as many full time workers as they can and replace them with part time workers so that they won't have to provide any benefits.. and so they can make more money.
Is this simply the future of business or have we gone astray in valuing the almighty dollar ahead of real people?

My brother asked his employer for a leave of absence so he could go to rehab for alcoholism (forget that his employer supposedly has an open door policy and programs to help its employees with problems without any reprocussions), his boss responded by firing him. Im pretty sure this is a violation of his ADA rights, but would like to know exactly what laws are being broken and the best way to handle the situation, as my brother cannot afford legal consult.

we put a large amount of money down and he didn't think I had a copy of our purchase agreemet that he tried to change the terms when his loan changed. Any way according to the agreement we overpaid the monthly amount by what I thought was $86.00 a month, but I just remembered that he add $4000. tax bill onto the price and counted part of our monthly payment as a tax pmt. So after a year of payments he decided we were interest only. Now we had to browor the closing cost because he ended up having a pre payment penelty that we had to pay 1/2 of. So my questions are do I leave it up to him to do the right thing as far as making the funds correct because even after all that I still need to honor my word and pay him back Correct?

I am thinking of applying for some administration type role in the public sector.

Is it true the wages in the public sector are a lot less than the equivalent jobs in the private sector? If so, since I am very much motivated by money, do you think I should ignore the public sector and just concentrate on gaining employment in the private sector?

Finally, regardless to the answer above, do you know of any good websites which contains vacancies in the public sector?

Thanks

I have an outstanding payday loan and they want to take me to
court. I wrote a check for the loan and it bounced and I have paid on the loan since but haven't been able to pay it off. I really don't want to go to court but they aren't willing to work with me. Can anyone tell me what happens at that point?
