Call them and they can credi the check over the phone. Bad time to negotiate your apr.

You should call their customer service department right now. Most will take an electronic check over the phone. Usually you can negotiate your apr with a credit company - just ask. However, with a late payment looming they may not want to listen. Some credit card companies will adjust your apr up when you make a late payment. I've seen it go from 15% to 23% in one shot. Ugly! You can then do what I did. I took advantage of one of the million offers I get in the mail. Transfered my balance from the ugly 23% card to the new 0% for 6 months card. Cut up the old card and close the account.

Obviously you need to call them and let them know the payment will be late.

As long as you send a new check immediately, or make some form of electronic transfer (gonna cost you a few bucks) then you should not have any problems.

Either way, expect to pay a late fee. What you are mainly concerned is triggering any penalties that some credit card companies impose...increase in interest rates or some other nonsense. If they do that, find another credit card company.

Definitely call the cc company about the error. If they offer online services, sign up so that doesn't happen again. Or get the pmt direct debited from your checking account. You can absolutely negotiate your interest rate, but it doesn't always work. Go to http://www2.oprah.com/money/debtdiet/steps/debtdiet_steps_03_b.jhtml for a helpful script on how to negotiate your cc rates.

Call up the credit card company and state your case.

Call the, they'll normally work with you. If not, tell them you're switching to a different card. They'll do it if you've been an on time customer.
