Would anybody pay to have office stationary printed up, when they can buy a program from Wal-Mart and do it themself?

Yeah they could make a killing .
There is alot of company's that are out there that make business cards better than the program's you can buy at the store's.

You'll be competing with places such as Office Depot that already offer the same service.
Be aware, printing business cards in box of 500 only costs 20 dollars. Do you think you can make ANY profit yourself without scaling the business very large which involve a good amount of starting capital?

Depends on where the business is located. Every Kinkos and Sir Speedy already does this. Starting any business involves evaluating what you can offer that the competition can't, and evaluating the amount of competition in the area. Realistically, I'd think that most locales have some pretty big companies in the area that have name recognition, as well as the ability to buy supplies in bulk (therefore, cheaper--passing the savings on to clients). That's hard to compete with.

Most small businesses will pay to have it done because they don't have the time to figure out how to do it themselves. Just really depends on location and how many other businesses there are like it in the area. You don't want to be anywhere near a kinkos for example.

Card and letterheads market is too competitive. I know of one company that focuses on printing forms, forms and forms only. The company prints millions of forms for big govt. departments.

These Items are very important. They create your company image and how the customer will think of you. My advice is; do whats in your budget. If you can afford to have it professionally done, do it. They will pay for themselves.
