Pretty much any sort of word processing or small-scale document preparation define this category for most people. Paralegal services would fall into this category, although a top-notch paralegal in this economy actually does the work of a legal secretary, process-server, etc. (which in most cases, you wouldn't be able to do from home).

Someone mentioned the webcam idea. If all you're looking for is a paycheck, and you don't mind the loss of privacy, that's going to be extremely hard to beat in terms of profitability -- although it might result in hassles from self-righteous neighbors and/or your domineering government.

The key, of course, is to find something that you pretty much like to do (and would be doing even if you weren't being paid for it).

For example, not all webcams are of the "XXX" variety: there are lots that fall into the "ordinary person's blog" category, that are nevertheless profitable. So, if you'd like to be on TV, for instance, a webcam would be a great idea for you.

If you're more of a behind-the-scenes "helper" sort of person, and you love organizing and filing and things like that, then you're better-served by doing jobs that let you focus on doing those things.

In any case, you're ultimately stuck either with marketing yourself or with hiring someone else to market you (or you're doing both). The point is that, without paying customers, you don't have any realistic hope for profitability.

Starting a business is comparatively simple; for most people, making one profitable (and keeping it that way) is not.

Most jobs you can find out there to do at home on your computer are scams. You'd be best off to create a website and sell things online. To do this you need to find a product that people are looking for and is a renewable resource, so you can get repeat business. Then once you have your site you need to invest in some advertizing through google ad words and list your site on the free directories. If you do decide to do this keep in mind you'll need to invest some cash, it takes money to make money. The benefit is well worth it though. Check out my site if you want some ideas, I just signed up with a really good company, the site comes prebuilt and it's only $10 a month US to stay active. It's well worth it. www.myforevergreen.org/wendypiper

There are professional telecommuting opportunities for the do-it yourselfer- or Telecommuter networks which you do no longer would desire to pay to play in.

There are many different jobs available over the internet, just do a search. But unfortunately most of them are scams and the ones that aren't are not reliable sources of income. Cash Crate is a total rip off and the people you refer will hate you.
