I have 6 bosses and 15 lines on my telephone. My company wants us to answer the surrounding phones if the people sitting closest to us are away from their desks. The wives of 3 of my bosses (and a few others here also) call them at least a dozen times a day and I'm not kidding! We have caller I.D. so the names are displayed. At first, I asked around to see if maybe they had a sick or elderly person at home that would warrant a lot of phone calls but none of them do. They are all young people, 30-ish. Can't these wives make a decision for themselves without calling their husbands so many times during the day? It is so distracting when trying to concentrate on your work.

basically this is a selfish question, because a friend of mine is moving out of state, and he wants to buy a home, and basically I dont want him to leave
:(
but on the other hand, if he does leave i do want to help him and be successful in getting his own home. He has no open lines of credit, everything on his report (almost everything) is a charge off or collection. I am a loan officer but i dont do mortgages. I just want a little info: could he get a mortgage at all? would he have to put money down? would he get a horrible interest rate? does his chances vary from state to state? any and all information would be helpful. Thanks!

One can enjoy the status of NRI being in India but stay in India doesn't exceed 182 days. Based on the earlier answers received also understand that one should meet all his expenses in India out of the salary being credited to his NRE a/c. I would like to know for how many years such facilities are available to avoid tax on overseas salary.

I recently got divorced in Aug. 2006 (on California) and I agreed to him having the house, I signed off on the house deed to take my name off, he promised verbally to refinance (not in the divorce papers) and has not, he is making all the mortage payments (hopefully on time) however we are BOTH on the loan and BOTH responsible for the payment-do I have the right to claim half of the interest on my income taxes?

Hey, I was looking on this site, and came across the add for chris peters lending that goes like this:
Hello, I am chris peter.Do you need a loan. Are you financially down? Are you in debts?Do you want to pay up your bills?I give out loans at 3% interest rate.I give out loan to personal and business loan to Business Men and women who are into Business transaction, and so forth.
There is also another guy on here that does the same thing. I have contacted them both, and this guy is asking for a non collateral downpayment of $170 through western union. The other guy wants proof of my id. I was wondering if this is right, or are they scammers? I want to know before I continue to the final step with them, Thank you.

My Husband overslept today and missed work... now he has to give a good reason to his boss, and his boss is a real jerk. So, I overslept won't really do it if he wants to keep his job.

His boss thinks he has a suspended license, so he could say he went to jail, and was bailed out by one of my family members. Jail would be a pretty good idea, except we're wondering if maybe his boss would call the policce to confirm?

Or, should he just say that he was really sick, and fell asleep. He usually gets up for work at 4am, so if he was sick til 2 and forgot to get up and call at 4?

The sickness seems much more simple, and avoids a long story like the jail thing, but jail is also more of a "unavoidable" excuse.

If you're going to say that he should tell the truth, save it, because we have bills to pay and you sure aren't paying them. But if you still insist on saying something dumb, then I hope it makes you feel special and it will be ignored. Thanks!

I decided to buy a business rather than pursue an MBA after 10+ years in sales & marketing positions, including mid-level positions with fortune 500 corporation. The business has been OK, but is not providing the income and satisfaction I had hoped. I would like the lessons learned to assist moving back into a more structured job, and don't want to be branded with the negatives sometimes attributed to entrepreneurs.

He ordered me not to revisit his outlet stores for the purpose of buying goods to resell. He said if he came back in 1/2 year and I was still doing it "I would be looking for a lot of trouble" Since the legal protection of trademarks disappears when an item is sold, does he have any legal weight behind his threats?

I've joined the HGVClub last time we were on vacation in FL. However, we found out afterward that it doesn't meet our life style and basically we just can not plan for vacation ahead of time to make use of this timeshare. I would like to find out if there is a way to sell it. Details of the membership can be found in http://www.vacationownership.com/hilton/hilton_program.html site.

thanks!

I'm 40 and plan to pay my 2 kids (approx $1200/year) for helping in the family business. My financial advisor suggested putting their money into a RothIRA. Advantage: RothIRA's can be used for college or saved for retirement if they don't attend college. But the salesperson thinks that's nuts, if the kids do attend college the 529s are much better. Well, I do expect they will attend college; which alternative is better?

Now, if I choose the RothIRA, I would open the accounts in their names. But 529's don't seem to work that way; parents or grandparents open 529s in their own names for the kids' benefit, right? So how does that count as paying the children (in terms of taxes)?

I have a friend who recently had a love one pass and the person made no provisions for their final expenses, therefore leaving a mess behind with family members struggling to fit the final expenses. This scared me to death. I'm working not making a whole lot of money but certainly enough to take out a small policy just for now and maybe convert to a larger policy in the future. Any suggestion on what insurance company to go with? not looking for 100.000's policy at this point in life just enough to cover final expense should something unexpected happen.
