Great question. I have over a decade of experience in this industry and I truly love it. I find that those that don't understand this industry, tend to be negative. My biggest advice? Stay away from the negative. Believe in what you are doing, and believe in yourself.
With that said, you succeed in this industry by one simple thing... taking action. This isn't a quick-get-rich industry. It takes work. If you don't make any effort, there isn't going to be a return. No what you do and how you do it is going to be different from company to company and team to team. Find out the game plan for your company and team. Find out what they recommend on how to build your business. What tools and system do they have to offer you? They are there to take advantage of.
Next, I would recommend working on yourself. You may get the tools and direction, but you have to believe in what you are doing, you have have faith, hope and belief. Remember why are you with XYZ Company? Write it down. Seek industry training... I love Dani Johnson. (www.danijohnson.com)... read personal development materials (Who Moved My Cheese?) Watch great training videos (www.thesecret.tv).... All of these things are going to help you succeed
So you take your tools and the system offered by your team/company, and the enthusiam and belief as a result of your personal development and that is a great place to start to find your success....

I am old school and when you say Network marketing, I think Pyramid. If you don't know, theses are a thing of the past and today they are illegal. There are companies out there that will teach you how you can build yourself a business and provides you free training. Okay, I hear a lot of yall saying "Too good to be true". So did I at first. There are some good companies out ther. The key is once you have established you belief in a company in all aspects that is about helping you as you are helping them, it would at least be worth finding our more about that company. They have no system or tools to offer you? They are there to take advantage of you and your friends.
Next, I would recommend taking a vacation. You may get the tools and direction, but you have to have someone else do what you are doing, you have have dishonestly, intelligence and a complete lack of brains. Watch great training videos (www.mlm-is-gay.tv).... All of these things are going to help you waste your time.
So you take your credibility and your dignity and flush them down the toilet, and the money and credit rating as a result of your choice to go into MLM will also be quickly lost which is a great place to start to find your failure....

Selling training material to the new people that come in. Everyone needs to be trained, inspired, or just motivated at times, so the market for this material never dies. You will see all the top leaders all sell training material and make plenty doing it.
Just like the gold rush, you can join the masses of sheep searching for the dream of discovering gold, or be of the few entrepreneurs making real money selling shovels to the dreamers. Are you are a dreamer or an entrepreneur?

1) Research when you will start making money. Often, if you get in too late, you are only rounding out your sponsor's network and making him money.
2) I knew someone who followed another woman into the bathroom to talk about her products. This person was the wife of a guy who made roughly $50,000 a month on his network marketing of hair care products. That's what it takes. You have to be shameless, be willing to be thought of as a total fool and whore, be willing to talk to anyone anytime about your products, to be a success. I tried it, it wasn't for me.
3) They always want you to "market" your friends. I found this distasteful.
