I don't know why they do it, but as a receptionist I find it very annoying when every other call is a personal call. We even have a backdoor number where they could go directly to their extension. Instead, they bother me every five minutes.

What about the husbands calling their wives at work 100 times a day--it's not just the women, honey, it's the men, too!
And if I were one of those bosses, and you took "offense" to my spouse calling ME, you wouldnt be needing to "ask around" for anything other than a new job.
So there.
Now I'm in a bad mood. Someone bring me some pudding!

i'm with the first answerer. do not ever assume his mom to regulate. sturdy or undesirable, she is the way she is. i might want to favor to assert, perchance he would replace inspite of the actuality that. If no longer how he feels about his mom, a minimum of how he's coping with the project which include her involvement on your lives and how he 'has your decrease back'. usually it style of feels the placement isn't the mummy in any respect - that is the experience of having a significant different who'll stand through you earlier others - even his personal mom. If he's able to truly being smooth on your discomfort in this and exhibiting no longer purely telling his mum that you're first, and each and every time something hurts you, it hurts him - then perchance he's properly worth sticking with. if you're not from now on feeling that from him, i imagine those issues in straight forward words get a lot worse. the feeling that he doesn't assist you'll translate to different subject matters. sturdy success!

well if its you boss their is not much you can do about it and sounds like you just need to take a message and not worry about it(after all you are still getting paid for it anyway). my husband calls me a lot at work and i do call him but as long as it does not interfer with my job and my boss doesn't care. what difference does it make. their is nothing wrong with having a happy marriage sometimes we don't have time to talk much at home with the kids and our different work schedules.

Great question, great observation.
I recently saw a study that women on a typical day say roughly 20,000 words, and guys say roughly 7,000 words.
For whatever reason, women just can't not talk. So, when theres nobody to talk to at their job, at home, wherever, they simply MUST call someone, and us husbands usually end up with the call.

I agree.....I know when I first moved off of the production floor (where I had no desk, phone, etc) into Sales, where I have desk, phone, direct lines, etc....my wife would call all the time for stupid things like, What do you want me to make for supper? I think she just liked the fact she could reach me at anytime....I took a while to get her to stop....I think some wives just dont' realize how distracting it really is. Especially when its for things that could wait to be discussed over the lunch hour.....

my case is completely opposite. I'm a stay at home mom, and every now and then my husband calls me 10 times a day. he is not the jealous type, and i don't give him reasons to be. he says he misses me, i call him if i must but i guess we just enjoy talking to each other.

I doubt that they call because they have trouble making decisions for themselves. Some people just like to keep in touch- I call my husband or IM several times a day and he does me too.
If your job is to answer the phones it shouldn't matter who is calling and for what- you obviously have the time or else you wouldn't be on here now.

because they could either be new at the marriage thing and it would just be normal. either that or they just want to make sure their husbands are not cheating on them or just being stupid
