Are quick claim deeds legal in the state of Texas? My brother in law is trying to get us to sign a paper saying that we have no interest in his property. He wants us to sign this paper without any attorneys involved and I do not trust him. I think he is trying to get a loan against the home he is living in (there was no will left by the parents so this is why things are being handled this way) Please all you lawyers in Texas please educate me. And by the way ... can an individual acquire a warranty deed or special warranty deed by themselves or do have to go through court when there is no will.

Last time I called out sick and my managers were really mad. I want to call out ahead of time so they can find someone else to cover my shift. I need an excuse where they won't say, "Well, can you come in anytime at all on Sunday?" because I need the entire day off.

I'd like to buy a few shares of a company, just to put back and hopefully let them grow... I don't really follow the stock market much, so maybe someone will have some suggestions, but I was thinking Ford since the shares are relatively cheap and I have always driven Fords so am partial to the company. And when I do finally decide on a company to invest in, what's the best way to go about buying shares?

The Landlord instructed us to drop our rent check through a mail slot in a certain apartment and said the she will pick it up from there. On Nov 1st I dropped my rent check for November in the way instructed. Now she says that I have not paid and that I am in arrears. This check has not come into my account yet. I wrote a letter offering to send another check if she has misplaced it. I think she is trying to evict me as she can give this apartment out at a much higher rental. I think this is dishonesty and a deceptive business practise. What shall I do ? I do not have money to retain a lawyer.

Many say "Its who you know, not who you are?"
To the best of my knowledge, countless entry level positions are being handed to under qualified people. The idea of acquittance's helping one another is not a question? The question is does the company suffer? And finally does under qualified management leads to chaos in the work place? Instances?

I'm scheduled to have a hip replacement in May. My question is this: is there any type of insurance (i.e.- AFLAC) that can help with some of the medical expenses that I will incur or even help with the lost income? I've heard of short term disability insurance but am not familiar with the particulars. Please note: I have a husband who has a decent job and am not looking for government assistance. Any help is appreciated.
