I have been paying my bills on time for 3.5 years. I own 2 credit cards which are in "great" standing and my vehicle is paid for. A few months ago, I was turned down for a mortgage and their reason was my past history. Does this mean I have to wait 4 more years to own a home? I was under the impression that if an individual pays his or her debt on time, they should be able to obtain a home loan. I must add that I've never had any bankruptcies, foreclosures (never owned a home) or reposessions. The problems I had in the past has been paid off (which shows on my credit report). What can I do at this point? Any suggesstions will be greatly appreciated.

We are a 10 yrs+ small to medium sized HVACR/IAQ (Heating Ventilating Air Conditioning Refrigeration /Indoor Air Quality) company that is in desperate need of a logo and possibly website design. I have tried a few companies but no one has designed something that i feel fits the image we would like to portray.
We cater to the high-end residential market as well as the light-commercial market (think, convenience stores, department stores, medium sized stuff not labeled residential).
Currently, we have no logo, no advertising program, no identity on any of our trucks etc., but yet we hold a golden (if i may say it) reputation where we're known. Now we would like to bring out the professional side of a company we've worked hard to build and it's seeming slightly difficult.
Right now we're looking strictly for a digital logo that can be used in a marketing program. Any help you can offer would be great! I can provide more details if necessary.

I live in Michigan and own a home. I may move down to Florida for a job if I am offered it, but I am not sure how to make that possible. I have a wife and 1 year old son, and we would be able to stay with family in Florida for about 6 months, until I get my home in MI sold, so I can purchase one in florida. The problem is that the housing market is really bad in my area and I am not sue if I will be able to sell it when I'm in Florida. Any ideas? How do people do it? What if nobody will give me a good offer and I'm stuck with a job in FL and own a home in MI? I'm sure a realty company would do it, but I dont want to pay them too much of a percentage to sell it (I have only lived there for a year, and would lose alot of $ if I had to pay 6% to them).

My partner works for a company as a landscape gardener & he is very good at what he does & really enjoys the work. However, he doesn't enjoy working for someone else & would really love to set up on his own. Can anyone suggest how he should go about this without risking too much? He currently works full time & would not be able to just quit his job in the hope his business would be a success. Anyone got any ideas how he could get his business off to a start? What kinds of things should he do to promote his business & build a customer base? There must be people out there who can help with this or have maybe doen this themselves already. He is a very hard worker & would put 110% in to his own business but we just need some ideas on how to get started withput risking too much as we have a baby on the way as well. Please help.

My partner has a default fault on her credit file. This was for a car which she got 4 years ago although she gave the car back the car HP people registered a default on her credit file for £8260. Now my problem with this is that A. the car wasn't worth £8k and 2. My partner was never issued with a default notice.

Now we tried to speak with the car HP people and they maintain that a default notice was issued. Now we placed a SARN on the car HP people and all the information they had on my partner was her name address and the amount she owend. No default notice. Can they do this without serving a default notice?
