Scroll down on the attached link. In 2005, the US census bureau reported 19.7 million households earned more than 100,000. an estimate for 2006 might be 3% higher and we just passed 300M people. 19.7 x 1.03 / 300 = 6.7%- this is all a little loose so I would just say less than 7%.
