What can you tell me about monster.com? I am wondering who pays for what in this service. I'm hoping to use it for finding a job. I see that account signup is free, but I want to know more. Since it isn't ACTUALLY for me, I didn't want to put all of my info in just to find out some details.

Cost to the job seeker?
Ease of resume building
Ability/ease of uploading a resume and what format would it need to be saved in.

whatever you can tell me.
thanks

Here is the deal. I work for a large home improvement type store as an Assistant Store director. My scheduled hours per week are supposed to be 55-60. Routinely I am called in or expected to stay later than scheduled and am being pressured into working 90+ hours a week. I know from time to time I should expect to work a bit extra...but this has been going on for MONTHS. My questions. 1) Is this legal? 2) At what point does it become illegal for my employer to work me this much? (ie hours) 3) Am I screwed and just have to bend over and take it to stay employed? Thanks and only qualified answers (ie you work or worked for DOL or wage and hour) PLEASE! Thanks.

So, this is something that I have wondered about for a long time. It seems to me that more and more employers nowadays (including the company I work for) are turning down fresh college grads in favor of those that may not have any education, but have tons of experience doing a particular job.

I was out of college a long time ago, but now that I am starting to deal more with hiring and HR in my daily job duties, I would like to know something... what do you think is more important to look at, actual day-to-day experience doing the job (even if a candidate lacks formal education) or formal education with little experience other than (sometimes) a one-semester internship??

Is this unfair to young college grads? Or, does it just even out the playing field for those that weren't lucky enough to go to college?

I was at the store and was purchasing a pack of gum, I handed the clerk my credit card to pay for it and she examined it, looked it all over, showed it to all the employees, then demanded ID saying that the name on the card doesnt look like its my real name when she doesnt even know me, this is the second time this has happened and im sick of it, is this an invasion of privacy? this happened in NY so what laws were broken? I could use links to a law website stating this is legal or illegal please.

I have had to juggle two jobs where I work - that of IT Trainer and Secretary to a solicitor. This solicitor made it plain he didn't like me training others. I know I shouldn't, but I managed to see some emails he'd sent about me to Personnel which were defamatory and untrue. What can I do? I really shouldn't have seen these emails but I feel they could be the reason that I have been overlooked for more senior training roles in the company. Help!
