What can you tell me about monster.com? I am wondering who pays for what in this service. I'm hoping to use it for finding a job. I see that account signup is free, but I want to know more. Since it isn't ACTUALLY for me, I didn't want to put all of my info in just to find out some details.

Cost to the job seeker?
Ease of resume building
Ability/ease of uploading a resume and what format would it need to be saved in.

whatever you can tell me.
thanks

Monster.com is free to job seekers. Employers pay to post jobs and to search resumes. You can choose to make your resume public or private. If you make it public, employers will be able to review your resume. If you make it private, then only the employers to whom you submit your resume will be able to review it. Monster is a rather easy site to use. I actually prefer it over many other job seeking sites (i.e., hotjobs, careerbuilder, etc.) Uploading your resume is also easy. Uploading works best from a Word document. You may also just enter the portions of your resume by answering questions through Monster's step by step process. Monster can also reflect how many times your resume has been viewed by an employer, which is helpful. Be aware that if you make your resume public, you may receive e-mails from companies that are seeking employees for careers in which you may not be interested. I find this happens frequently with the financial services industry. You don't have to reply, though. I think overall you will find that Monster can be a valuable tool in your job search.

If you see a position you are interested in, all you have to do is submit your resume once you are logged in. It is very simple!!

I have secured several jobs from employers that had posted positions on Monster. You may e-mail me if you have any other specific questions. Good luck to you.

i found that website pretty user-friendly.it's been several years since i've used it,but i remember it was easy.my only complaint was that most if not all of the jobs listed were all in big cities, and i live in a small town.so unless you are willing to commute,monster.com is not gonna be helpful to us small towners.
