These are called Barber Halves. Depending on the condition and the mint mark (located below the eagles tail feathers) it could be anywhere from $8 on up. Especially if the mint mark is an "S". They start at $3000! Taking it to a dealer my be tough because they aren't always honest to people that don't know a lot about coins. Take the coin in and ask for just a grade. Then look for a coin magazine with a price guide in it like "Coinage". Check out the price based on the grade given to you. You then know what to expect from the dealer if you are trying to sell it. Good luck!

If it has been circulated (taken out of the package) it is somewhere between $3.00 and $25.00. The 1901-S is rarer than the 1901. If it is still in mint condition, it could be $250 to $500.

It really depends on the mint and condition (mint meaning the exact print of the coin). You can do a web search for the coins lots of site list what they are "worth", but remember the worth of any thing in the world is whatever someone is willing to pay for it. One collector may pay much more for it, depending on his need to complete a collection or not ; therefore making your coin "worth" much more to him that someone else. SO CHECK WITH COIN COLLECTORS TOO.... good luck....
