I have been told that it is wise for a first time user (college student) to leave a small balance on your credit card to build credit. For instance, I have a $1000.00 limit on a credit card; haven't come close to maxing it out; at most maybe $500.00 at one time. I have paid $450.00 (leaving a $50.00 balance) most months because I heard it was a good idea for someone just starting out to do so; in order to build my credit score. Any opinions? Thanks....

there's this person i have to deal with on a near daily basis - co-worker. she's this manipulative creature - i mean, if you don't really know her, you may just believe every word she says. the problem is when you actually have to work with her, and you get to see her exactly the way she is.
hard enough to deal with her schemes, she gets aggressive when things don't go the way she planned. not physicaly, of course, but she get into this tantrum, yelling at everyone, being rude. o, i forgot to mention that she resorts to lie.
and to add to the problem, i got the promotion she was after, so i'm always at her spotlight. and as she can't always get to me, she'll go after the other people that work with me. i actually had to stop her from firing people - on the basis of some hairy tale she presents the boss, and i had to quickly investigate and forward the truth (got me an evil eye from her!).
she's not going away - don't know anyone willing to give her a job, plus she's the boss's niece

I moved out of province, and had to sell everything. A friend of mine agreed to pay for a bedroom suite, in 5 payments. She made 2 payments, and will not answer my calls, or emails. It is not a large amount that she owes me. Yet I feel very jilted. I need all I can get to start my new life. Is there anything I can do??

Ok, past credit messed me up. I have a judgement thats almost paid off. I am trying to raise my credit score.I have 3 new accounts that I've paid on time for over 1 year. I read that one way to raise your score is to " piggy back" on a relatives good credit ( have them add me to one of their good accounts and not use it) Is this safe, is it legal. I would love to hear constructive ways to increase my credit score. Please don't judge me. Almost all of my " bad" credit accounts have been paid off. I put my sons first when the divorce came. They lived in the house that I paid for while I lived in a basement.

I have been working under my current boss for almost 9 months now. There has been several misunderstandings and I think that he doesn't believe I am always being truthful with him. Lately I have admitedly been lacking focus and need to show him that I am serious about focusing on my responsibilities more. I was dealing with several difficult family issues including a death of someone close, but know now that it is no excuse for not being on top of things while on the job. I have not made any large mistakes, but have been lacking focus and making minor errors that have been making him angry. I know that I am ready to prove to him that I can hone my focus and perform my duties exceptionally well as I had been before. Without specifics as to what position I hold, what is the best approach to regaining my boss's trust that I will be on the top of my game from now on.

In august I was stupid and took out a payday loan. I had an emergency that caused me to travel out of state. In september when it was due, my husband had to be rushed into the hospital, and I had experienced bad fraud on my bank account. I called the loan place and asked what I could do. I realize that I have a debit that needs to be paid, I just couldn't pay it then. They told me there was nothing to be done. They'd cash the check. I had rent due and everything. So, I paid the bank $30 and put a block payment on the check. I called the loan place and told them that I'm more than willing to make payments on the amount owed. They gave me some outrageous payment plan and told me that they're going to keep on cashing the check. Since then, my spouse has lost his job and we've been having extreme financial difficulty. I check the my account to day and the loan place electronically deposited the check and put in the wrong check # on purpose. Is that legal? Is that fraud?
