My boss is an abosute cow. Everything I do she says is not good enough. When she asks me to do something, I do it exactly as she says and then she says to me that it is wrong!!!! She is impatient and always rushes to do things so she can play on the internet. She acts as if she knows everything and will not accept that some people are better than her. I really want to get her out of her big boots and get her back for being so horrible. What can I do?

I took a loan out in 1989 that I never repaid in full because I ended up moving out of town. I basically forgot about it while starting my life over again in a new city. Now 17 years later the bank is calling me asking me to start paying the loan. They just called me threatening to send the sheriff out to confiscate my assets. Can they do this?

I manage a complex that houses more than 80 over 55's in Halifax, West Yorkshire. My residents have expressed serious interest in learning about computers. I would like to know if there are any organisations that anyone knows of which donate old corporate computers with an OS and basic MS toools to a good cause.
The company I work for is a registered charity, thus cannot supply the computers, nor pay for the OS/MS license, hence wanting them pre-installed.
This is a legitimate request, so serious replies only please, I can be reached for more details of the organisation and scheme through messenger.
Also we have a sewing club and are looking for an overlock sewing machine, we have plenty of space so would be happy to accept one of industrial quality.
Thanks for all your help, if you can offer any.

I am about $13,000 in debt. I spoke with this company that says they can cut my bills in half by having them settled and make one low monthly payment. Until know I have been paying little by little and not getting very far. Has anyopne used a similar program and is it worth it or will it make things worse?

A friend saw a reference to the British 'Shilling' coin and wondered what's a 'Shilling' worth in U.S. money? He thinks the coin is no longer used, but maybe someone can give us an idea?

I bailed out a friend 9 months ago after a DUI arrest. First time bailing someone out, didnt know I was supposed to get a bail receipt. The cop that took the money never said anything.

Why have i waited this long? Well, it was a close friend, then a month after i bailed him out, his gf gets knocked up and some other things happen, and i figured his in a tight spot, i will lay off for a while. Month after month of excuses, and here we are.

Do you think the police would release a video survelance tape from that date to me if i decide to take my old friend to court?

Its $700 that i have never seen a penny of.

Or is there perhaps another way to reclaim it?

Any sugestions are appreciated. Thanks.

I currently have sharebuilder but they charge twice as much for selling than for buying stocks.

What are other competitors? I'd like one with no minimum, no maintance fees either.

What is the difference between buying a house as a second home or as an investment property? Which one is better from mortagage rate and insurance stand point?

Are there any advantages of one over the other?

I heard that mortgage rates and home owners insurance is less on 2nd home. Can a house bought as a second home rented out after the purchase?

I was recently made IT Manager at my firm of accountants temporarily to see how it goes and possible to take on the role full time.

i am at the beginning of my Financial Services exams (Taking CF1 - Financial services regulations and ethics in December) which i will take no matter what.

i have been given the choice to concentrate on the IT side of the company and get qualifications to go along with my top grade IT A Levels or to concentrate on the financial side and get CF1-5 (Financial Planning Certificate).

What would you do?

She worked full time for 10 years. She spent 21 years raising 2 children. She now works 1 day a week and pays voluntary contributions as someone told her that was necessary to maximise her entitlement. I have worked in full time employment for 34 years and paid full stamp all that time. Is she paying voluntary payments unnecessarily as she will qualify for a payment as my wife (at age 60) or because I have heard that the rules are likely to change in 2010 anyway. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

We were working for a builder in a different state installing steel stairs for each new building going up there are eight buildings total. Unfortunately the builder was not very happy with the time it took for us to fabricate the stairs and have them delivered and installed by us. They did tell us that they are going to find another company to complete the final three buildings because it was more convenient to have a local company work for them. Here’s the problem; they are not paying us for the work that we did complete. In total we finished close to $90,000.00 worth of work that is owed to us. No one from their company will return our calls, and when we do get someone they say a check is on the way. Its has been over 4 months since we received a payment from them. What are our options in getting our money? They are rental buildings so I’m not sure if we can put a lien on the property. Any advice would help out.
