I bailed out a friend 9 months ago after a DUI arrest. First time bailing someone out, didnt know I was supposed to get a bail receipt. The cop that took the money never said anything.

Why have i waited this long? Well, it was a close friend, then a month after i bailed him out, his gf gets knocked up and some other things happen, and i figured his in a tight spot, i will lay off for a while. Month after month of excuses, and here we are.

Do you think the police would release a video survelance tape from that date to me if i decide to take my old friend to court?

Its $700 that i have never seen a penny of.

Or is there perhaps another way to reclaim it?

Any sugestions are appreciated. Thanks.

If your friend didn't jump bail, you should be able to get your money back from the police. Of course, this could be difficult without a receipt, but it was their error. They have to have records that you paid them. Get it back from the police.
