My parents are getting divorced. My mom is miserable because her husband is an alcoholic. They've been to marriage counseling and all that for a few years, and it's just not working.

Anyway, she is a waitress, and does not have a lot of money. The main source of income was from her husband's job. Does anyone have an idea on how she can find a home of her own that she can afford? She does not have education, so waiting tables is really the only job she believes she can do. I'm working on trying to find her a better paying job that I know she can do, but are there any assistance programs out there to help her find a home of her own that she can afford on a very low income? She is 46 and both her children are grown and have their own homes. She does not want to come live with me, I've already offered. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Does having delinquent hospital bills reflect negatively on your credit? I'm a student, I do not have a full time job, therefore I don't have health insurance. I have had to go to the hospital from time to time though, and I've went to a county hospital for people who don't have health insurance. Still, I have received hospital bills, in outrageous amounts of money, none of which I can afford to pay. They have been calling me about payment plans, ect..I don't even have a way to arrange a payment plan with them right now, that's how strict my budget is while I'm in school. Will this show up negatively on my credit?

Actually, my boss is having some troubles these days. He is short-tempered all the time. In fact, he blames me all the time, even very small things. I love my job, but I can quit anytime. I just respect him and I understand his situation. But sometimes, I almost loose my patience (because of unfair judgement). Please help.

I have screwed up pretty bad in my past, mostly with hospital bills that never got paid and an old bank account that was overdrawn. I have NEVER had a credit card though, but every time I apply for one, I get turned down. Now, I'm currently a student and have taken out some student loans. When I start to repay them, will this help build my credit? I would really like to be able to establish some kind of credit for when I finish college. Where do I start?

The other day, my coworkers were moving stuff around in the office. All of a sudden, from the corner of my eye, I saw something was thrown to me, I stepped away to avoid it, and out of reaction I threw back the thing in my hand, which was an aluminum object.

And I realized that it was my coworker that threw stuff to me and he said he was playing around, and it was just a piece of candy. He got very pissed off and went to the security and HR to file a claim against me. I reported to my supervisor and checked the camera. It showed that my coworker threw stuff to me first and it wasn't a soft throw. It doesn't matter if it was just candy. It was flying toward my eye. The reason I threw back thing was just out of reaction. My job has zero tolerance on this. Both my coworker and I might get fired. Is there anything I can do to protect myself?

Hey everyone, I am looking to apply for a city job, and it says that "Minorities and Women Encouraged to Apply".. Now I am NOT racist or sexist in any way, but if I am not a woman or a minority, would I still have a good chance at the job, or will they get first consideration?
