I already have a job but I don't love it as much as I used to because everyone that used to be there left and the new manager is mean and the owner cheats me of pay. I need help. My parents are making me pay for college and for my car (if I get one), and they won't let me quit without finding another job first! Please help!

I have never itemized, as my standard deduction has always more than covered things like my 401k contribution. We bought a house this year, and I would love to be able to itemize! Bad news is I also got downsized (week before we closed, no less!) so I'm guessing the 6 months of 401k contributions + interest on the home will still not be greater than my standard deduction.

Here's my question: if I roll my 401k into a regular IRA, can I deduct the $4k max contribution to the IRA rather than deduct the contributions I made the 1st 6 months of this year to the 401k?

I think deciding whether people are mentally fit to be let out of prison and into society ie. paedophiles, murderers and rapists, and having the power to keep them locked up if they are a danger to anyone, is quite an important demanding job but some people think its airy fairy rubbish, what do you reckon?

Before I got married, I NEVER used my credit cards. I had them strictly for emergencies only. My husband has always used credit cards to buy everything. He has never been good with budgets. He uses his cards for gas, food, clothes, car repairs, everything. If we are running low on cash at the end of the pay period and want to go to a movie or dinner, his solution is to put it on the card. My solution is to not go. I have tried to explain that this is hurting us financially. I have showed him the bills, the miniumum payment due, our monthly budget. Nothing seems to work. I can't cut up his cards or take them away from him. Any suggestions???

Zillow is used by realtors and mortgage professionals to quickly check the market value of a home. There must be a site that does this for commercial property. Zillow is free. I am looking for the commercial equivalent of Zillow. All I can find is softwares and reports to purchase.

I don't know what to make of this. Me and my husband are planning on moving into a new apartment in a new complex. We pre-leased it (meaning that we've already given our deposit) in September. We were supposed to have moved in on the 21st of this month, but decided that we didn't want to have to pay our pro-rated rent, so pushed back our signing of the lease until the 28th. I asked the lady in the front office if we would be able to go see the apartment BEFORE we moved into it. SHE TOLD ME NO!!! because it wouldn't be ready until we moved in and that we can see it AFTER we sign the lease. I asked her when the people that are living there right now moved and they moved out October 31st. I mean when we went to look at an apartment there, we saw a "model" apartment. Ours will be the same floorplan, but it's just different you know? Can they really NOT let us see the apartment we're going to live in for 13 months before we sign the lease. I wanna see it before we sign the lease

I bought a house two months ago. My home inspection turned up a few items and the seller fixed those items. In the state of North Carolina, you cannot sue a home inspector. It's even outlined in the agreement prior to the inspector going out to do the inspection.

This house, though, has been a nightmare! It's only 16 years old, but I've had a pipe burst, insulation pulled and replaced, buckled vinyl flooring replaced, wax ring on the toilet go bad, rotted out the floor, leaks from skylights in the sunroom, faulty wiring, breakers tripping, roof leaking, and this is only after two months.

What's next? This house is the money pit. I'm a single female, first time home buyer. My dad was right, though sexist, when he said I should've gotten married first. Ha!

So is there any relief or alleviation for home owners who have purchased a lemon of a house?
