I hear this being used so often, in T.V. ads, on the radio, as casual expression, and even a book written by the man behind the biggest banking monopoly the world has ever known.

Everytime I hear it, I feel somebody is being shafted.

What do you think?

This woman I work with seems to always make me look bad or foolish in front of others. She even makes up stuff
...like saying I throw stuff at her and when I told her that I have never thrown anything at her and asked what she meant by this...she said I throw papers down roughly in her tray...which is an out and out lie. I always place them gently in her tray, always. I don't do anything roughly. Well, since she has lied about this I have really had my guard up and she comes in late all the time, like 10-15 mins. and sometimes 30-45 minutes or so. We are both temps and our sign-in time sheets are on the same clipboard together and I couldn't help but notice that she signs in 8:00am (the time we're supposed to be there) even when she gets there much later. I'm the front desk person so I know when everyone arrives and leaves. She doesn't stay late to make up the time and she doesn't take a short lunch, so...this has made me wonder

Hello, I worked in a bank for 2 years. I recently relocated so I was forced to find a new job. I took a job at what I thought was a nice community bank. Here is the problem- last week I was told I may be supbenad (sp?) to court. I'am responsible for every single deposit I take. So for instance if a customer has had an account with us for years and years and have good account history- if I deposit their checks and a week later the check comes back NSF, the bank DOES NOT take responsibilty for it- I DO. Does not sound right to me at all. Should I quit my job now before I put myself in a sticky situation? Please let me know what you think
=-)

I received a letter in the mail w/ a $3,000 check saying I needed to deposit the check to receive my prize winnings. The company address is in the Virgin Island and the letter was mailed from Canada. Has anyone ever received a letter like this? I can't find any info on the company on the web (I could be searching wrong!) and I don't want to get screwed! Please give me feedback if you've heard ANYTHING about this company!

I'm writing a research paper for a class on a career and I've chosen physical therapy. The thing is, I need someone to interview who has this profression, and I don't personally know anyone who does. So if there's anyone on here who's a physical therapist or a physical therapist assistant, who wouldn't mind replying so I could get your e-mail address and I could interview you via e-mail. I'd really appreciate it!!

I currently live in Europe and work on the net with a US firm. So far they've been fine, paid on time and exactly what they owed me. I hope this stays this way, but - just in case - what do i do if they don't pay me or even bounce the checks?
One thing, of course, is stop working with them, but - how do i get back what i am owed? Do i take them to court here in Europe? Do i take them to court in the US? Is there any way of solving such a situation without court time or travel?
a typical check is around $2500, and traveling back to the US would be very costly.
