I assume that your congregation is a small, beginning group, and don't have the financing to buy a building right now.

Here's what we did. Started about 14 years ago in the pastor's living room. From there we moved up to renting the play room of a christian day care center. (that was on Sunday mornings). For about the past 5 years, we've been meeting at 2pm in an actual church building. It has worked out great, because our group is Spanish speaking and the group that owns the building is English speaking.

During that time, we bought land. Just under 4 acres - In Bexar County, TX you can put a church on residentially zoned land - and it costs a fraction of what commercial land does. We bought that land for under $50k, and across the street is one acre of commercial land for $250!!!

As time and finances have permitted, we've been constructing, and now we have moved into our new building.

I tell you all this to let you know that there is a way to use the Lord's money wisely. Do not give it to rent a strip mall spot, where the owner also rents to un-Godly businesses. God's money should not line those kinds of pockets.

Everyone's invited! There's simultaneous translation for anyone who can't understand Spanish.
