It depends.
Do you live in an area that has any sort of rent control or regulations? If so, is your unit subject to any of them?
Did you ever file a complaint against your landlord? If so, the rent increase may be their idea of retaliation and you could refuse to pay it and challenge it in court.
Try negotiating with your landlord. Its cheaper to keep a good tenant at a lower rate than to keep renting the unit over and over again to people who may or may not pay, wreck the place, etc

The landlord can raise the rent as much as they want at the end of your contract term as long as the property is not located in a rent controlled area.

If your lease is up or if you're on a month to month lease, your landlord can raise the rent by 100% (or any other percentage) if he wanted to.

As long as he notifies you ahead of time, he can raise your rent by 50 or 100%. However, you also have the right to move and find something more affordable which would be the avenue that I would take.

He can if he wants, but that's only when your current lease expires. When you have to sign another lease you can move out if you choose. I think 30% is a bit much.

I would go to the fair housing housing council in your area and find out what the laws are! It varies from state to state, city to city and municipality to municipality! Peace!

he/she can raise rent as much or more than the market can bare, unless you signed a lease that prohibits rent hikes. Welcome to the jungle.
