I believe that post tax COBRA health insurance payments are tax deductible on your income tax return under the health deductions, but I am not sure. I know that you have to have 7.5% (i think) of your income for the health cost deduction to kick in, but do COBRA health insurance payments count toward those deductions?

Please provide any links to proof of the deduction.

Ok my husband deployed to Iraq. But before going he started a big bill. The name of the co is American marketing service of Virginia (They sell magazines over the phone).

To make a long story short , I got a bill for $66.48 . I called them and thats when they told me that, my husband agreed to pay them $66.48 a MONTH for FOUR years. My mouth dropped.
So being the responsible person that i am i paid the first bill (without talking to my husband).
I finally got a call from my husband, My first response was to yell and scream . Then when i calmed down , He told me that they told him it was $66.48 a YR for four yrs.

With that being said, I dont want to pay them any more. I asked them how much would it be for me to cancel and they said $400 + dollars... lol Are they crazy???? Whats your opinion on this matter??

Any ideas to get me out of this? (besides paying to cancel)
Also can they legally put this on me husbands credit? I dont think he was dumb enough 2 give the SSN.

I'm a first time home buyer, so I'm not clear on how the mortgage loan interest deductible works.

For example, if I pay $6000 federal tax per year and the mortage loan interest is $9600 per year, do I get $6000 back when I file tax? Or $9600 is simply deducted from my annual gross income when I file tax?

i got my first job this month. When i filled out the form oct 6, I put "EXEMPT" on line 7, now i'm worried,
-should I have left it blank? Will i get in trouble with the IRS?

i'm single
live with parents
i have no kids
mom claims me as a dependant
I will be make like a total of $1,500 this year.

-if i get a 2nd job november how would i fill out the w4 form for the second job?
and will i have to change the info on the FIRST job's w4 form?

okay i admit i have been very lazy 15-19 never had a job, no license i was just a complete bum, but now i'm about to turn the corner going to school in spring i work full time right now and have my license and really doing something with my life right now.. My sister is quiting her job. she is a chef at the restaurant for 3 eyars and she does all the work very good but the people there are not treating her good and the boss is very 2 faced and unfair. The boss never pays the vacation paychecks until u ask for them, and even monthly paychecks sometimes bounce.

now she is quiting and she doesn't know what papars seh has to get from her boss to certify her leaving and what else does she have a right to receive? the last payment, the payment for the next 2 weeks? the vacation paycheck for this year, a paycheck for the health injuries she got(lifting up heavy meat)?

please share what you know about this and give any advice. thanx
